Snowflake Sighting

So, my lunch pals are telling me about an incident that occurred between a long time friend waitress of 10+ years and a young girl who was a new hire at the restaurant.

Something that was said by the long time waitress to the new hire 'made her cry' and she quit on day 2.  The waitress is very respectful of other people, mature, and does a great job.

My friend was leaving and the waitress needed to go service another table that became occupied so they had not yet gotten the details of why the little flake was crying.  The waitress did pass along that the young girl did write a letter to Corporate though.  See the manager? Nope, wrote a letter to corporate. Lol.

Probably a new college grad as well.  So many young people that are not going to be able to deal with real life...  I hope given the choice of going into the medical field or committing suicide that suicide it is.

A few other thoughts from this totally screwed up reality...

  • If a made up thing - ‘cultural appropriation’ is ‘bad’, why is gender appropriation ‘good’ ?
  • Always park near the exit and near a cart coral.  (Unless you need the handicap zone)
  • Me to libtards - If you believe what anyone tells you why don’t you believe what I tell you.
  • I want democrats to die.  It is the only solution.

  1. OH, PLEASE TELL US WHAT HAPPENED WHEN YOU FIND OUT!
ya, corporate letter? ha! I agree, especially the part about DEMOCRATS!
I have a Dem cousin...he has a nice wife and two kids, 10 and 12. I figured the 12 yr old boy is a lib due to his dad...he's very bright. SO, we were at a family event about 2 months ago and he reveals that "My dad is only liberal because he thinks he is!" He's TOTALLY against illegal immigration, this little cousin of mine, he believes in the constitution, ..in other words, young as this boy is, he is paying attention and not just drinking the Koolaid. TODAY, I got an email saying he has thought about our conversation every day since (!) and could he have my blog address.........NO SNOWFLAKES IN MY FAMILY! :)

    1. Cool Beans Z.

I actually think there are lots of liberals out there who Aren't. The lady in my lunch pal couple goes to a library group lunch 1st Tuesday of each month. One of the ladies is total libtard while my lunch friend is Very Conservative. When the libtard woman found out that the Conservative also thinks everyone should have clean water to drink, she said "You DO!?" That's how screwed up in the head they are. Damn they dumb.

I'm sure my lunch pals will follow up on the snowflake story. When I get it you will get it. :)

    2. PS, the libtard in the ladies group is a loner. All the other ladies are cons and ignore her 99% of the time.

  2. Poor li'l snow flakes can't handle criticism (or truth bombs) because they are used to getting participation trophies all their lives. BTW, I always get excited when looking for a spot in the parking lot and I see that gap ahead ... I start the turn but have to brake when I realize it is the cart coral. I'm writing corporate!

  3. I've had a gazillion jobs and I've been a waitress - both cocktail and food. I have never ever had to cry at a job. WTHell? I've never ever even cried at the end of the work day while in the privacy of my home. There have been times when I've had to squelch the urge to throttle someone, but cry? Ummm - nooooooooo. Letter to corporate? I have news for the little flake - no one cares.

    1. Oh - and I used to train waitresses at the Hyatt Regency in Houston. If I had trained her she would have quit the first day and not the second. I can remember stepping on the heels of trainees who were walking too slowly. There's a perfect speed - not too fast (looks chaotic) and too slow tends to piss people off. Just a nice efficient controlled speed.

    3. My administrative duties were clerical and when I had run ins with underlings, it could get conniving, but not filled with histrionics. My eldest daughter, however, is an aspiring chef, and in that environment, tempers flare every 5 minutes. Basically, if you can't stand the heat...you know. It is a rough & tough world and you'd better have a thick hide or go home. Lots of yelling every night and the underlying theme is, chefs don't cry.

My daughter is not only holding her own in this very competitive foody world, but she is excelling in it.

    4. Adrinne, Yes, I'm curious what made her cry. I can't imagine crying at anything that could happen on a job. Getting torqued yes, cry no. Interesting you mention the speed. Too fast and people wonder if a bomb is about to go off, too slow and you appear slovenly.

Made me remember one Chinese place where the waitress moved slowly and drug the backs of her flats on the floor as she went. Couldn't stand it. Would not go back because of it.

    5. Cube, good to hear about your daughter. I hear chef's don't make that much, I hope she is an exception. I just remember myself starting out at McDonald's at 15. I wanted to excel so I could make as much as possible and keep my job. Ended up working at every position in the place, each one better than the last ending at grill man, when you'd actually cook the burgers on a gas fired grill.

I was treated with respect, if I wasn't I could see looking for another job, but I'd find another job first. There wasn't a lot of money in those days in Pittsburgh.

    6. She holds her own because she doesn't take any crap and she's better at her job than anybody else. She's definitely of the "there's no crying here, mister" mold.

  4. The total explanation for snowflakes is our education system. The question remains: when will western society wake up to this reality?

    1. That's the question Mustang. I can't even speculate. I recently thought about the behavior of people in say 1965, compared to each decade since and then today, and all I can say is we are on a trajectory and it ain't a good one.

Yes, the education system was entrusted beyond what it should have been but I have to hold parents at least partially responsible. I never had kids but find it hard to believe I'd put up with a flake in the house.

  5. Like everyone else, I would like to know what the crying was about. Adrienne may have hit on it about how slowly some people move. As a teenager on the job in grocery stores, and delivering news papers, I learned from bosses and others to MOVE and get things done. I have kept this habit all my life, and have chastised my kids when they were young for dragging their feet. Visualize your friend telling this snowflake that she was not only expected to wait tables and do the occasional bussing, but mop up spills on the restaurant floor. That would make me cry. I hate mopping.

    1. :) Bob. All I know at this point is that the competent 10yr waitress was training the flake. Hopefully get more info soon. But what could it be? Why are those customers glasses empty, you should move faster, waitress stuff. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I'm writing corporate and quitting.
