Man and Cheetah Family

Alright, so this guy spent months driving out to hang around a female Cheetah, showing her that he is no threat.  He is a wildlife videographer.  At a point she had a litter of cubs.  She lets her cubs play with him unsupervised.  There is a longer video that shows more of the process but I can't find it now.

On the plus side, this video is shorter and quickly illustrates the relationship between the mom, the man, and her cubs.

  1. I think even their approaching him is odd and so sweet....I guess they're so new to everything that he doesn't seem out of their ordinary? Love this....lucky him!! This is what's called Earning Trust!

    1. Z, As stated he spent months gaining the trust of the mother, just hanging around like he was a harmless element of the environment. The original video I watched illustrated this very well, but now I can't seem to find that one. I'm assuming he intends to follow this Cheetah family and create a video of their lives. I'll keep a lookout for such videos.

    2. A remarable man! Almost on a level with Born Free, the story a British couple who raised ELSA, the lion cub, then set her free to live the natural life they knew she was ,meant to live.

      A beautiful, very touching story!

    3. I've seen some stories like that Franco. IN one, the guy goes back to Africa like 5 years later and the same lion runs over and gives him a big hug.

    1. Bunk, I think he is safe with this family, but what else might he run into over there?

  3. My wife makes fun of me for only watching Animal Planet and I.D. channels (and the occasional hockey game). Pretty cool. I'd hate for Cheetah man to end up like grizzly man Tim Treadwell though.

    1. Why? Did Treadwell end up being eaten alive?

    2. Mr Blade I think the guy is safe with these animals.
Franco, yea, Treadwell and his wife were killed by the grizzly(s) they hung out with.

  4. This man is extraorinarily courageous. I have to admit those cheetah kittens (cubs?) are as appealing as most domestic kittens, but even though my instincts would want pet and fondle them, I doubt I could let myself go that far.

LIFE is so wonderful –– and so terrible –– all at the same time, isn't it?

These inreasingly frequent SIGNS that life really is governed more by LOVE based on trust and genuine affection really help lift our spirits.

Have you seen any of the videos where Brtish piano virtuoso, Paul Barton, brings an upright piano into the Wild, and serenades Elephants at close range in their native habitat?

Apparently the elephants, many of whom are old and have been ill-used for decades as a kind of slave labor by native savages, have bcome genuinely fond of Paul, who has a great deal of empathy and natural affection for the big creatures.

The world is filled with many many wonders, and we'd all do better to concentrate on THOSE things, as our friend Kid does, than to get addicted to RAGE over the ugliness and incredible stupidity of politics.

    1. Franco, I haven't seen Paul, but I have seen a woman playing piano for elephants.

I have seen Many more examples of animals, birds, reptiles, fish, forming loving relationships with people.

Plenty of ugliness out there which I am mostly able to ignore.

  5. OFF-TOPIC, BUT A HAPPIFYING NEW HEADLINE at NEWS FORUM HOMEPAGE:

Trump Administration Lunches New Unit to Strip US Citizenship from Foreign-Born Terrorists, Criminals (Fox)

THE ONLY THING WRONG WITH THAT IS ITS FAILURE TO INCLUDE N_A_T_U_R_A_L-B_O_R_N AMERICANS WHO'VE GONE OVER TO THE DARK SIDE.

    1. Franco, the US citizens who go to the dark side should be tried for treason and killed.

  6. By the way, how can we ell the dofference between a CHEETAH and LEOPARD? They seem closely rested.

    1. Franco, Cheetahs are smaller and much more streamlined.
