It Doesn't Get Any Better

Melodious tones, originating from metal strings vibrating off of the surfaces of a wooden box and amplified by electronic pickups contained within, generated by the talented finger movements of a 50 year student of the guitar, reverberate into our plane of conscienceness through our aural inputs and into our processors. My processors find the succession of one note after the other a relaxing, yet emotional and empathic experience. I hope it's good for you too.

  1. Have you seen my vid pics Player, down at the bottom of the page?
I have two of Tommy E., Classical Gas and a blues/boogy tune improv. It was one of the first things I did, when I started blogging. Youtube gave a formula-High x width. I did not write it down and have forgotten, now youtube does not show it on the player page; just three or 4 options for the size of a player, not as big as mine.

  2. He is as amazing to watch as he is to listen to. I decided listening to this that AG is best played as the blues...which oddly runs counter to the message contained in the lyrics.

  3. Awesome. I did not know you could do this song justice with just a guitar. I was wrong again.

  5. They Say, I hadn't been to the bottom of your page yet. Just went. Yes, those are excellent tunes. There are a number of versions of Guitar Boogie on youtube.

Have you ever seen him live ? What a fantastic show if not and you get the chance.

  6. Arby, Yes, with this tune, I always think about about losing someone or great hardship and how it is traditionally played in New Orleans at funerals, with a jazz blues effect but also meant to give comfort to one who is mourning. Which I think it does.

  7. Admiral, I hear a lot of things in the way he plays it. Bagpipes, along with a New Orleans jazz and blues effect and also that stop and pause effect that the folks do in those types of funeral processions when they play this. The only thing missing if at all is the brass.

In the same vein, Taps played with an echo effect is very nice.

  9. Opus, It is my great pleasure to know you enjoy it.

FWIW, if you use Firefox, or if you don't you might think about it and include the download helper which allows you to download youtube and pretty much most other media type content to your computer and keep it in case it disappears form youtube. A lot of stuff sure has that I can think of.
