Chuck Yeager on Air Combat

  1. This was a fantastic interview, Kid. I've read Yeager's book and marveled at his story. This enhances my impressions of the man. He's around 97 years old now ... one heck of a pilot in his day.

    3. LOL, It took me a while (after reading the random comments below that are destined for the cornfield) to remember what I had even said. I thought I was just addressing and riffing off some random spam comment but instead I must have tapped in to some psycho blind alley of the dark web that until now I had no knowledge

    4. Hell, I typed in a long comment that went to the cornfield I guess.

Short Version. Bunch of Id's posting about the creature that Are the creature imo. Worst kind of spam. I delete immediately upon spying the creature's name.

  5. I don't fly anymore, of course, but Yeager was always big on racking up flight time. Without that, one cannot keep the edge on ACM skills ... and in my view, all flying skills are perishable. There simply is not a lot of room in high-performance aircraft for booboo's. Today, with the exception of the demonstration pilots, the number of flying hours in our operational squadrons have been cut to save money and I have to say, given the money already spent on the world's finest aircraft, it borders on criminal not to allow our pilots to fly them and ... hone their skills. We need men like Yeager running the USAF and Naval Aviation today and you know, the real problem is that none of the generals and admirals who run our military aviation departments even realize what a bunch of pudknockers they are. Any of them reading this will assume I'm talking about someone else. They are good one thing, though: kissing ass for promotion.

    1. Sam, I don't know the details of USAF service. I do know that civilian pilots who haven't flown in x number of days must do a checkout flight. Frequent flying is importent. The Blues fly every single day.

Anyhoo, having the skill to land on an aircraft carrier, at night, will keeps one's attention at max Q.

    2. Sam, were you a pilot?

  6. Remarkable, and thanks.

Kind of on topic, when I was a kid and an Altar server in Oxford (1970s), the Verger, who'd lead up the liturgical procession, had been in the RAF. I asked him, with 9 year old curiosity, what he'd flown and he told me, Mustangs. At that point I didn't know the RAF had flown those. Anyway, he told me how he'd tipped a "buzzbomb" out of the air and got blown up in the process. Fine old man.

    1. LSP, RAF? The Spitfire was a damn fine aircraft. I did not know the RAF flew P51s either.

I never heard of a buzzbomb exploding as a result of being tipped. Maybe the germans rigged them?

  11. Yeager is one of my favorite people. I'll bet he could have given John Glenn a run for his money had he been in the space program.

You sure do axe a lot of commenters around here. Are they just not as loveable as me?

    1. Woodie, Chuck is quality people. I do axe anyone who comes by the talk about the creature. Who the F would do that beside the creature itself?

    2. Woodie, Yeager would have easily excelled in the space program. Not sure about the part where he had to masturbate for a homely looking female....

Not sure why attract such pieces of shit, but it must be my good looks and pure Conservative blogging diatribe.

    3. Some people have an affinity for flying and I think Yeager was a natural in the cockpit. I seem to recall that he may have had an opportunity to apply to the space program, but at that time, NASA was probably looking for the younger fellow. I think it is also true that Yeager lacked the academic credentials the space guys were looking for. Over all, Yeager was one hell of a pilot; he may have been something less than great as a space monkey. I'm glad to see that he is well remembered here.

  16. Sorry Kid, but many of us here are more interested in FRANCO then we are about Chuck Yeager .
And though I can Understand you now wanting that Piece of Progressive Shit's name even mentioned here, we are very interested what those Asswhipes say about our good friend Franco.

We already know that that WORTHLESS Piece Of Progressive Shit says about our President is all LIES, and her Made up Propaganda, but Franco, comes first, in my book as well as in many of you other readers.

I like many of us here enlisted and served in the US Army for 4 years, and I feel that I have earned the right to be called a PROUD REPUBLICAN. And that I shouldn't have to see her discredit our President who is our Leader, and our Commander in Chief. I get extremely pissed off, when I read blogs such as the person written by that POS that writes that Progressive Liberal in question here

    1. MA, I can't imagine what I cold provide you about Franco. He's not here.

Posting stuff here isn't going to do anything for Franco. Go do battle on the creature's blog or elsewhere Ok? I don't and won't give progressives the time of day, and I couldn't care less what they have to say about anything. As I've said before I believe any such comments are designed to bring traffic to the creature's blog.

Finally if you don't like what I post, change the channel.

I'll leave your comment and my reply for the benefit of others, but any other comments that draw attention to progressives will be deleted, names mentioned or not.

      Cordially.

  18. The Marines did not win at Okinawa or Iwo Jima by hiding in Foxholes. We talk about prevailing over this virus and we have to return to normal, and we WILL somehow do it... But not by hiding under our beds, or listening to some jerk who is campaigning for the Presidency by having a “briefing” on National TV every single day, and then do some STUPID thing like sending virus infected patients in to Nursing Homes to infect others and wind up killing them. , We think about SENSIBLE THINGS TO DO like Finding a vaccine, or develops "a total cure. But not by passing the blame to our President who is only out to help this country, and not to accept China’s lying excuse for doing this to the entire world like the mealy mouthed Progressives are doing.

  24. America's Greatest Governor Cuomo says Trump and his CDC guidelines made him put Kung Flu infected people in nursing homes. Says the mandate from CDC forced nursing homes to accept patients and he needed to keep hospital beds open for other patients.

This is just basic bullshit deflection. President Trump even re-built New York a massive hospital Shop. As well as rebuilding the Javis Center and Cuomo didn't even need either of them. The Navy hospital Ship finally left because they only had 82 patients though having a THOUSAND beds that they didn't need either. You own it Cuomo! No one else but YOU! And most certainly NOT President Trump. . It just never ends with these Socialist idiots.
