  2. I love it when he pushes himself off the rock with his paw. Too cute! Wondering how he floats without moving anything (like arms and legs.) Does he have so much fat that he floats? Inquiring minds want to know.

    1. Adrienne, Body fat which can be up to 4 inches think, plus their coat hairs are hollow so they are more buoyant.

"Since the fur doesn't absorb water or mat when wet, a polar bear can just shake itself off to dry, minimizing heat loss. Hollow hairs. ... Each hair is hollow, and acts like a tiny float. This hollow coat makes the bear more buoyant."

    1. Bunk, I don't believe there is anything such as a dumb animal, except for a number of humans. I wish I could hug these animals - and may others, but it just don't work that way.

    2. Just noticed the bear used his left foot for an extra little propulsion off the wall.

Mybe its because I started life sleeing with the only FEMAL Teddy Bear in existence. Her namewas Brown betsy, and she was alreay an antique by the time she got handed down t me. Bron betsy had being first to my great great grandmother –– or so i was told.
