Werner Von Braun says

You're welcome..

And that ARABsat 6A communications satellite must've been one heavy mother.

Seems to me, the heavier it is the more fuel and rocket you need, which make it heaver still which requires more fuel and rocket which makes it heavier still which......

Of course, click the pic !

  1. What kind of gas mileage do you think those babies get?

    1. "GAS MILEAGE"! Them's fightin' words! They'll be electric if the Dems have anything to say about it :-)

    2. I'm guessing one mile per 800,000 gallons Mustang.

Hey, why hasn't AOC been bitching about these things? She's worried about cow farts, and look what these things do !

    3. Z, AOC will demand these rockets be converted to Solar Power when and if she ever finds out about them.

    4. Okay, Z ... now I'm trying to envision a rocket ship with a windmill on top. It's not working for me. Plus, there's no wind in space. Nevertheless, I'll have my seconds contact your seconds if you wish to proceed with the fight.

    5. Mustang, Windmill won't work, maybe a water wheel?

    1. Z, Russia can put heavy stuff in space. Probably not with current equipment as that has only transported ISS crews and supply ships for quite a while now. Then again, who knows..

China, India, Iran, and North Korea can put things in space but not this heavy. There may be a couple others.

  3. I’ll just be silly and wonder aloud ... how do we pay for these powerful machines while there are literally thousands of homeless people lining every avenue in downtown Los Angeles? Saw the pictures on television earlier tonight. What person with sound mind would want to visit Los Angeles as a tourist? We have people starving to death in this country, including children but we have plenty of money to waste on rich politicians like B. Sanders and foreign aid. I really don’t get it.

    1. I'm surprised you said that, Sam, though I don't disagree entirely, but don't you think "Expanding the Frontntiers of Human knowedge" is every bit as important, if not more so, than wasting precious resurces on society's losers and hopeless cases most of whm would be better off dead anyway?

I never forget the case of Rodney King, a born loser, if ever there was one, who was awarded MILLIONS of DOLLARS in damages fro, mhis sui against the police department, got no GOOD u of it, proceeded to LOSE it all, athen DIED shortly afterward.

There are some people –– probab;yfar too my –– that CAN'T be helped.

I'm not trying to be flippant, it's a serious question.

    2. Sam, I'm all for helping the homeless and other similar needs people. I'd prefer to see something where they can be setup with an address that they can use for job apps, etc, and then given training for employment and helped along that path. Also build shelters for them with guards because you know there'd be crime going on. I don't see where giving them everything would be particularly helpful. I think some percent of homeless like it that way.

There are starving kids. Someone I knew lived in a section 8 area and testified that the chicks send teir kids out in the street for food and water and spend their EBT money, and Gov child support money on partying. I'd like to see them tossed in jail for child abuse.

    3. I'll agree with Sam about the hungry kids. Maybe we can do both if we stopped spending taxpayers on viagra pills for free distribution to Kenyans and other stupid stuff that falls under the heading of "foreign aid." I think Domestic Aid would be good for a change.

  7. It's interesting that we still use fixed nozzle engines that require multistage boosters instead of variable aperture nozzles which are for more efficient but less impressive..

    1. Edward. The answer to any confusing question is: Money.

Also, I did some quick research on this subject and found that we don't use variable aperture nozzles because AOC doesn't believe orangutans will ever eat oranges or nachos on any given Friday.
So, it's a waste of taxpayer dollars unless those dollars are allocated to her 2020 campaign run. This is what they're telling me.
Like I'm smart enough to understand any of this.

  8. Much was made recently by tha schmuck left-leaning "hhistorian" Douglas Brinkley about Werner Von Braun's having been an "unrepentant Nazi" who escaped punishment as a "war criminal" only because he betrayed the Third Reich, and wound up helpung US.

I detest people who think they're serving the best interests of manknd by diggng up DIRT and flingng it everywere they can reach.
