SO... Brett Kavanaugh for the SC

I found it interesting that President Trump made mention of talking with senators and the confirmation process when announcing Brett Kavanaugh as his pick for the SC.

I think confidence of the confirmation process had to influence this decision.  There is some negative information out there about this fellow regards a Vince Foster cover up and a favorable lean toward obammy care.  Maybe more but this is what sticks in my mind.

Let's see what this fellow's decisions are going forward and how adherent to the Constitution they are.  He's going to be on the SC a long time.

Possibly the president felt any of the other 3 top picks were not able to be confirmed with such a shaky combination of republicans and rinos in the Senate.  Maybe he is saving one of those for after the 2018 or 2020 elections when there are more republicans to be more assured of a confirmation.  Wild Ass Guess and probably some wishful thinking.  Amy was my pick but any of the other two fellows that I know little of may have been just as good.

Is this a time of divine providence ?  If so, then DJ Trump will be re-elected in 2020 and will have the opportunity to promote another Constitutionalist to the SC as a stone cold liberal judge checks out.

  2. Ginsburg is going to be taking the dirt nap at some point during the Trump administration. Another pick from that list of 25 will go far in correcting a really dangerous gang of liberal thugs on the supreme court.

An aside, how's things in the gold market, Kid? Making gobs of money watching gold hover between $1250 and $1350 an ounce over the last 6 years or so? I still see William Devane shilling gold as a sure bet. When does it go back to $1900/oz? Soon? Never? It's a commodity, investing in the stuff is no different than laying out your dough on red or black in Vegas.

    1. Fredd, Gold has been going sideways for a year and a half or more, I haven't been interested at all.

Replacing a lib like Buzzard would be good.

  4. BRETT KAVANAUGH: OUR NEWEST SUPREME COURT JUSTICE?

We pray today for the well-being of Judge Brett Kavanaugh who just yesterday was nominated by President Trump to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court left by Justice Anthony Kennedy.

We pray that he and his family will withstand with aplomb the incessant barrage of lies, snide, politically-motivated insults, barbed criticisms, vilification, and calumny to which he is sure to be subjected.

We pray too that his nomination will be approved in the senate, and that he will be seated on the high court before the November election.

Most of all we pray that Judge Kavanaugh, if he survives the barrage of dirty tricks and Kangaroo Court-like proceedings to which he is sure to be subjected by the pharisiaical, power mad hypocrites determined to badger and beleaguer him, that, unlike too many Republican appointees to the bench in the past, Judge Kavnaugh will prove to be the staunch, highly principled, reliably conservative presence on the court President Trump believes he will be.

    2. I will admit to you that I am concerned about him. Not so much for his safety and well being as for his character as a staunch supporter of conservatives causes and principles. After I finally got a look at him I felt he has a weak face. He looks soft and frankly immature for someone 53 years old. I hope and pray he doesn't turn out to undergo a 'cinversiin to liberalism" once he gets seated on the bench like so many other Republican nominees n the past have done.

If there's anything worse than an out-and -out leftist, it would be a fake conservative or just another worthless RINO.

    That's my hypothesis as well.

The Dems look moronic in their opposition of Kavanaugh, who appears to be a middle-of-the-road judge.

I does both me that Kavanaugh and certain GOPers are buddies.

  7. I took a deep gulp when a 'liberal Yale Law prof' tonight on FOX raved about Kavanaugh.....! But, the guy seemed fair and I'm hoping I'm being paranoid :-) I think Kavanaugh will be less conservative than some would like but, from other things i've heard and read, I think he will adhere strictly to the Constitution.....

    1. DaBlade, I'm thinking more positive about the guy at this time. I'm also liking that we have Barret in the wings who clerked for Scalia.

Anytime, I get worried about any of this kind of stuff, I just have to think of the criminal POS being put into in the white house instead and I smile, smile, smile.
