Despite opposition from Oklahoma's faith community, a few state representatives held a meeting Wednesday on the threat posed to the state by "radical Islam."

Several Oklahoma state troopers milled around outside the state Capitol meeting room during the hearing, but the meeting remained peaceful.

Rep. John Bennett, R-Sallisaw, said various Muslim groups operating in Oklahoma and across the nation pose major dangers.

"If you love America and love freedom and our way of life, you have an obligation to stand and fight against Hamas, CAIR (the Council on American Islamic Relations), NAIT (the North Atlantic Islamic Trust) and ISNA (the Islamic Society of North America) and all these other groups that are here to destroy us.

"The enemy is in the wire and some of them are in this room today.

"The enemy must be stopped. We're going to be called bigots, and racists, and Islamophobes and a whole host of other things by the media after this is over. We're going to be called that by terrorists organizations like CAIR that is here today, but you know that is a small price to pay to put our foot to the tail end of these terrorists and these anti-American groups in the name of freedom."

He said he and other lawmakers would draft legislation to protect Oklahoma from organizations that would do harm to the state, but he didn't have the specifics on how that would work.

"But we're going to do all we can to kick these terrorist organizations out of the state of Oklahoma and do whatever it takes to protect our citizens," Bennett said.

I'd like to inject a point.  Hundreds of years ago, the Chinese were smelting Iron on hardwood fires stoked with oxygen via bellows.  See Wikipedia.  Those offices were full of hardwood and other combustibles, not just jet fuel.  Also note in the videos of the towers after being hit but still standing how quickly the black smoke was exiting those high floors and moving sideways, not up.  It's going to take a strong wind to do that.  There is your bellows.  It was damn hot up there.  Personally even hot enough to melt the central steel pillar imo - though I've never heard anyone suggest that.

Yea, I think so.

A lot of information about Chet that few are aware.  Chet had a big hand in creating the Everly Brothers sound, and that had a hand in influencing The Beatles.  Some artists in this vid make the case that Chet redefined how people listen to music.  I think it's a valid argument.

There are many artists not cameo'd in this vid who held Chet as an idol, not only as a guitar player but as a person. From the 1950's through the 1970's for sure Chet was it. Kids interested in guitar idolized many of the guitar heroes that came out of the 1970's and forward, but don't know that those guitar heroes were influenced by Chet.  George Harrison for example (not in the vid) played a Gretsch guitar because that is what Chet played.  George wrote the liner notes for Chet's Picks On The Beatles album.

There are a lot of players that got interested in and learned how to play the guitar in the 70's who were highly motivated by Chet Atkins.

So many that love this man and have him as a hero.  Count me in.
