Andy Green Training to Pilot the 1000 MPH Car

An update on the project which take place in 2013-14
.
.

But this isn't just about the need for speed. Bloodhound is being used as educational tool to try to inspire school children into becoming the next generation of scientists and engineers.
More than 5,000 schools across the UK will be using videos from the Bloodhound project as part of their lessons.

Andy says: "We want to showcase the great engineers we have in this country and can have in the future.

"When you go into schools and talk about this project, children's eyes light up and it inspires them. That's what it's about for us."

  1. He's already gone 763 mph. Isn't that almost breaking the sound barrier?

    1. Hey Sig. Indeedy Doody, it IS breaking the sound barrier on land. Check it out

I've also updated the post to include this vid. I followed this closely in 1997, It was a blast. I'll follow this one and post the interesting bits that come along. No doubt multi-media on this one is going to be greatly enhanced.

  4. Isn't that the same as Einstein's 'relativity'?
When the driver stops, will he be living in the past? Our past?
Doesn't the clock on board the craft slow down at that speed?
Yea he will be in our future when he steps out, but he will have lost
a few minutes of his, and thus be living a few minutes behind us.

  5. They Say, I guess it's fast enough for that. The faster you go the longer you live. Maybe that's the attraction? ;-)

  6. just joking.
I think for that time thing to happen one would have to hit speed of light.
We can only go into the future and back to present-not to the past and back to the present.
That is how one who hits the speed of light, would come back to our future but be in their past.
    So I've heard.

    1. They Say, Yea, :)

Going to the past would be dangerous eh?

Conceptually, I've heard the same thing from the view that you could not travel to a point in time where the time machine didn't exist yet. Though from a danger standpoint, going to the future, and seeing events would be dangerous to bring back to the present. You'd be able to change the future, but as the movie says, the future doesn't exist yet, so it can be anything.

I've also hear All possible time lines exist somewhere, meaning in simple terms, in some alternate dimension/universe, Germany won WWII, or Russia won the cold war, or you married that person you said goodbye to at 18.. Seems kind of pie in the sky, but for physics to allow for a time machine to go to the future and back again that would have to be true.

  7. THAT IS FABULOUS! I wish I could say I had the guts to ride in that car, but I'm not sure.
In Germany, I drove a little over 100 mph and LOVED it....but it felt FAST enough for me!
