Scientists Create Cell Based on Man-Made Genetic Instructions

.
.

This can't be good in my opinion. It will lead to perversion of life on a massive scale. Liberals will love the idea.

As an aside, hypothetically imagine if life on Earth was created by assholes like us. You can bet once this technology is running and we are capable of colonizing other worlds, we will try our hand at it. It'll be a while.

In the meantime, it's the same story as clones. Are they really people ? Or will they be created just to be medical (and any other use) slaves for those who can afford them.

It'll be a while in either case, but I can't imagine anything good will come of it.

  1. "the latest step toward creating life from scratch." Man is still trying to be the creator and not the creation. "In the beginning God..." It's not gonna stop Kid - it's just gonna keep getting Kookier

  2. Dean O - Man you got that right.

I shudder to think what is Already happening.

And really, of all the things to work on with all the problems this place has.

  3. Before the flood, the Days Of Noah; the same thing was going on. But they had the real formulas. Today the scientist are hitting and missing.
Ever wonder about Greek Myths-half man/half horse, half man/half bird (the chiropractor symbol today), half man/half fish (the god Dagon- the god of evolution), one eyed Cyclops (the dot in the forehead of the India people)?
The disciples asked Yahushua, about the end of times. Yahushua said, as in the days of Noah.
We are getting close to the end times--but not yet. Not even 2012.

  4. I read that many environmental groups are upset about this. They are afraid that artificial lifeforms will contaminate the planet. I guess even environmentalists are good for something.

  5. it blows my mind that there is even a science branch called "synthetic biology". nothing good can come of it. i don't even think it's worth it for treating diseases, MAYBE if it was ONLY allowed for treating children.

  6. They Say, yes, 2012 if anything won't be the end, but a big shakeup if it goes according to legend.

  7. Trestin, A valid concern. We're hardly perfect with. our experiments.

They had Navy guys washing down the ships around the Bikini atol that survived the nuclear blast - a day or so after the blast.

  8. labcat, maybe some good would come of it, but it's easy to see much more would be consumed by man's thirst for youth and health and we'll end up destroying a lot of life, synthetic or otherwise for our own selfish purposes.

  9. Trestin, PS. I remember seeing a story about nano-bots than can replicate themselves. If turned loose they would devour the planet in a matter of weeks. Like the take a penny and double it every day for thirty days.

  10. I don't see anything good coming out of this either, Kid. God will not like this either.
