Now Playing - There Have Not Been A Lot of Female Singers That Got My Attention

Z is certainly one.

Annie Lennox is one.

Karen Carpenter was one.   Voices as clear as country water.

  2. JAMBALAYA is a 'different' song to put up as a Karen Carpenter example! :-)
LOVE the Annie Lennox version of Whiter Shade of Pale...

Funny, my voice coach used to tell me I reminded her of Carpenter in some songs. Mr. Z thought I sounded very much like my idol, Eydie Gormet, so I was thrilled when he pulled over one day at the side of the road and said "Did you send a tape to this radio station?" Honestly, he did ...it was Eydie... and I do have something in my sound of hers...LOVE that!

Thanks, Kid....the other day my homestay guy said "You know, you should sing in chapel at school".... biggest compliment he's ever paid me !!

Thanks for the music....such good stuff!

    1. Z, You should record a tune or two at a professional studio and post them. Tunes up to you but of course Mademoiselle.

  3. They could certainly sing, that's for sure. Saw Lennox at the airport in Nice years ago. She was with her guitar player. Scruffy little chap.

  5. Let's not forget Janis Joplin who really had a phenomenal voice. Next month it will be 49 years since she died.

    1. Ok, Not bad but not a stand out as the two I've put forth. A lot like many female modern country singers. Thank you for your comment.

  7. And actually, Lady Gaga. She has a great voice, and can really sing!

    1. Bill, I'll have to admit I haven't listened to Lady Gaga. Can you provide a link that rivals Annie or Karen? Tia.
