  1. He was as nice as he was talented. Hubby had one of Chet's songs on one of his CD's and Chet told him he liked Harold's version better. Such a gentleman.

    1. Adrienne, I've never heard any different. I never heard of anyone that didn't like the man. Neat that you and hubby had that relationship with him.

Here's a longish vid of other guitar players and artists giving their thoughts on Chet. They all loved him, many claim Chet got their careers going.

None of the Beatles are in here but George Harrison was a huge fan, and played a Gretch because that is what Chet played at the time.

  2. Such perfect rhythm! It just picks you right up and carries you along –– makes me feel WEIGHTLESS for a few minutes. What a gift!

Still, I have to say I like Tommy Emmanuel even better. From what I've heard so far Tommy has to be THE greatest guitarist who ever lived –– and I include the great classical guitarists Andres Segovia and Julian Bream in that.

Atkins produces a most beautiful SOUND from his instrument. It's like balm to the soul.

    1. Franco, I remember reading on the back of one of his album covers that Chet is always right in the notes he plays. He worked hard to get it perfect and never got it to where he was satisfied. I think that last part is what really puts people over the top.
