Trump

1. He went back on his promise to appoint a special prosecutor to look at the clinton beast when we all know she is guilty of felonies.
  • 1a. He cited it would be divisive. The country could not possibly be more divided.  Non-issue.
2. This totally goes against his "law and order America' promise.
3. without any need to, he stated the clintons are 'good people'.

What BS.

Let's see how it goes from here.

Bottom line - he ain't the clinton beast and that's good enough for me if we end up with a constitutional Supreme Court aged to last the next 50 years. I'd have taken just that Nov 7.

  1. And remember that Bill Clinton called to 'congratulate' Trump....and then this happened. Every time the Clintons call, someone backs off from justice.

    1. Z, There is that aspect. It occurred to me. Trump has many in his family if you know what I mean.

    1. AOW, Maybe if "We" put forth a whitehouse.gov petition on the matter late January.

I'm happy to see you out and about. I hope you have peace and much comfort way sooner than later.

  3. Since when does he have the authority to not prosecute.
Didn't we have enough of that under Obama?

    1. Ed, I think the deal is him either appointing a special prosecutor or not. I guess there is some autonomy within DHS but that could be thwarted by Trump? Not my ara of expertise.

Let's try a petition after he is sworn in.

  4. Today is the very special day we need to see aside our differences, suspend our questions, complaints and cynical disbelief, and do nothing but express gratitude for all the many blessings we DO have –– and they are astonishing once you start thinking about them and enumerating them.

Thanksgiving starts with thanks for mere survival,

Just to have made it through another year

With everyone still breathing. But we share

    So much beyond the outer roads we travel;

Our interweavings on a deeper level,

The modes of life that souls alone can share,

he unguessed blessings of our being here,

The warp and weft that no one can unravel.

So I give thanks for our deep coinherence

Inwoven in the web of Gods own grace,

Pulling us through the grave and gate of death.

I thank Him for the truth behind appearance,

I thank Him for his light in every face,

I thank Him for you all, with every breath!

    ~ Malcolm Quite

Going through the exercise of expressing our thanks to God for the Gift of Life and for all the joys He has given us that make life bearable, and all the sorrows too from which we should learn to be aware of the needs and feelings of others.energizes us, makes us feel stronger, healthier, more hopeful and more ambitious. Wallowing in spite, jealousy, pettiness and endless recriminations makes us ill and only produces great unhappiness.

    1. FT,
Today is the very special day we need to see aside our differences...

Won't happen because most who are not busy in the kitchen will be out and about in the blogosphere. When web surfers have days off from work -- this time of year, for four days in a row -- there will be more than the usual amount of sniping.

    2. Exactly FT. I am fortunate in that I tend to discard the negative very quickly. Don't hold grudges, don't focus on all the negatives that are available to focus on and that we all know what they are. Very fortunate.

    4. Kid, those are great qualities, and a good formula for getting through life without giving way to frustration, dissatisfaction and misery.

The Left always embraces negativism, and looks at life entirely on the dark side. Nothing any sane person would want to emulate there.

Expressing gratitude, and being cheerful –– even if you don't feel like it –– is a good way to live. Leftists would sneeringly call it "hypocrisy,"but Isay it's a good way to protect yourself from succumbing to discouragement, and the BEST gift any of us could give OTHERS in our Daily Walk.

I believe each of us has the power –– and the DUTY –– to make his or her own life by cultivating a CHEERFUL, CONSTRUCTIVE, OPTIMISTIC, attitude in ourselves, and using it to PRODUCE something worthwhile every day, even if it's only in a small way.

I am thankful that I became aware of the need to learn this lesson before I got too old to benefit from it.

    5. FT, Yep, I never include the negative people in my daily planning.

Hey, its the boy scout pledge.

Call me "still a work in progress." ;-)

  6. We should remind ourselves that Mr. Trump is a great executive. That means he knows how to DELEGATE responsibility to his assistants. For good or for ill IMAGE is more important than SUBSTANCE in the bizarre world of political intrigue. A "Simon Pure" personality cannot survive amid the incessant Machiavellian maneuverings, and institutionalized hypocrisy.

As Truman said, [at least I think it was Truman!] "If you want to have a friend in Washington, get yourself DOG." And I don't think he meant to be funny.

At any rate, Mr. Trump may seem rough around the edges, but he's a VERY smart, and much more sophisticated than anyone in the enemedia has given him credit for –– so far.

I do believe he has the best interests of our country at heart. Wreaking vengeance on the Clintons –– much as we might love to see it –– is probably NOT in the best interests of promoting a pro-Business, pro-Growth, pro-Freedom, pro-Independence, agenda, and it would not serve well Mr. Trump's pledge to try to life the :inner cities" out of the Blight, Lawlessness, Violence, Decay, Hopelessness and Despondency in which they've been languishing ever since LBJ imposed "The Great Society" on the American Negro –– and the American taxpayers.

Mr. Trump may be the Ultimate Pragmatist. For this I applaud him. I believe that in time both God to whom Vengeance alone belongs –– and the Trump Justice Department –– will see that the Clintons receive their just desserts.

Meanwhile, there are much bigger, tastier and more nourishing fish to fry.

  10. We haven't even begun Trump's administration, yet, so many are out complain that he's trashed every campaign promise he's ever made. Obola, as president-elect, promised to part the waters, bring about racial equity, yada, yada, yada, and, after nearly eight years, everything has gotten worse. May we please let President-elect Trump be President before we begin tearing down his presidency?

    1. Cube, I just put it out in the spirit of the blog being my Diary for all to see. I think he should appoint the prosecutor.
      - I think there are hilrod voters who believe she did nothing wrong and this could open their eyes and maybe even minds.
      - The lawful AMERICA promise. I believe this is what Most people voted for. If you study the wild west, the frontier populations (all really) were most interested in a lawful society. I just don't believe we can let a politician? Federal employee? skate. Damn the divisive torpedoes.

Maybe it could still happen. Maybe a whitehouse.gov petition signed by 50 million American suckers that Trump can say - I can't ignore 50 million people.
