An Open Letter to Ben Carson and the Families and Friends of Mass Murder Victims

First off I listened to this audio of Ben Carson talking to Hugh Hewitt about the recent mass murder in Oregon.

Mr Carson, I applaud you for dismissing 'gun control' as a way of dealing with these events.  I do not agree with you when you say we need to find these people before they commit such a crime.  It's impossible.  Most of them over the last couple decades have been on psychotic drugs, and that may have played a part in their action, or just the fact that some psychologist determined that their personality was such that they needed some treatment to keep them from going off the deep end may have been why they committed these crimes and the drugs were ineffectual.  Regardless, unless you feel you can eliminate doctor-patient privilege, this idea isn't going anywhere.

With the individuals who have not even seen a psychologist, we hear after the fact that they were such nice quiet boys, or that they kept to themselves and nothing was evident until 1 second before they started murdering.  You're not going to find these people in advance either.

So, what is the solution?

I could dream up a number of different ways that community colleges, universities and other large populations of Unarmed citizens constricted to populating Gun Free Zones might be protected but that's a waste of time as well, because these places are not going to spend the money to implement any of these ideas unless the threat of losing more money than they would spend is in play.

This is the essence of Diplomacy.  Diplomacy isn't talking to some moslem or general tyrant shithead and convincing him to be nice to his neighbors - it is convincing him that if he is Not nice to his neighbors, he will be forced to pay a price that gets his attention and motivates him to action.

Therefore the real solution.  This section is for the friends and families of the victims of these events.

Instead of standing around crying and holding candles and dreaming of some impossible gun control measure that Will ensure that no other father, mother, brother, sister, or friend will have to endure what you are enduring, you need to get mad.  You need to get pissed about the fact that with school related shootings going on now for 2 decades, the school that your loved on went to and was killed at didn't spend a fucking dime to ensure their protection.

If you want this to stop. you sue them back to the stone age on the premise of  GROSS CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE with regard to protecting the people in their charge who They dictate cannot take any measure to protect their own life.  Realize that we do not get permission to protect our own lives from some mortal authority.  We are born with that right. When the vermin come and kill us, the people who took away our right for self protection and then did absolutely Nothing to protect us are equally guilty, possibly more so.

Sue them.  Sue them so hard that every single venue in America will be afraid beyond belief to be the next venue of a mass murder where there was insufficient protection for Their Paying Customers.  Shoppers, Students, Resort Guests etc..

In perspective, businesses of all kinds hire Armored vehicles to take their Money and deposit it in their bank accounts.  They pay for that.  Yet, they won't pay to implement processes to protect Your Children or You from a known threat that has manifested for 2 decades now?  Think about that.

Now think about the 100's of thousands of moselm vermin obama is importing into America.  The FBI freely admits that they can't tell you if any single one of them is ISIS or Al Queda, or Not.

If you read the news, you must know that these vermin love to do mass murder on the most vulnerable innocent people on the planet.  And you think Gun Control will have the slightest effect on that?  Or that you will be able to root these vermin out before they commit mass murder?

If you do, You need to see one of the afore mentioned psychologists.

Finally, ask obama why, in his home town of Chicago, which has some of the if not the most strict gun laws in America, why 60 people a day are killed by guns, then ask him why he never talks about THAT.

Thank you for reading this far.

  1. I like Carson a lot; he is a well-mannered, intelligent, thoughtful, considerate gentleman. He does, however, seem to lack real-world experience, and this leads him to conclude that there are easy solutions to complex problems. There are not. However, even if we could somehow ameliorate all the rotting brains in this country, it is impossible to say with certainty that such events as mass shootings will never recur; impossible. And even if shit-for-brains President Zero ordered all guns confiscated, what about machetes, pitch forks, butcher knives, rat poison, hammers, shovels, crowbars, or rocks? Then, after we have removed all potentially lethal weapons, what about the doctors who persist in prescribing drugs to children beginning at a young age, behavior modifiers, that will more or less guarantee that they are ripe for Democratic Party registration by the time they get kicked out of high school.

Real solutions are common sense solutions, and while the government does have a role to play, the caveat of common sense rules the government out of the mainstream. Here’s what the government can do: federal government, butt out. This is a state issue. State, country, local governments, urge all citizens to become proficient and safe with handguns. There is no greater human right than the right of self-defense. A copy is never available when you need him. Citizens, protecting themselves and one another is how you (eventually) rid the world of progressives like the idiot in Colorado who dressed up as Batman. Talk about fruit loops ... and no one saw that coming —seriously? Common sense tells us that these people will always be with us because our history tells us they always have been with us. Jesse James wasn’t just an outlaw ... he was also a Democrat.

    1. Mustang, Thank you for your comment. This is also my feeling about Mr Carson. He is intelligent but is he cognizant of the real world solutions that will propel America quickly back to the land of common sense at least at the high visible level?
I'm not sure. He might be. Then it depends on who he would choose as a cabinet and who would be his advisers.

No matter who you are in an election race, you need to play the game to a certain extent. Is that what he's doing, or is this transparent 100% Ben?

Proficiency with firearms: My Dad saw to it that we all were, He may have been thinking more that we'd find ourselves in another war, possibly with USSR and his kids would have a leg up, but if a parent is going to teach their kids to not eat household chemicals, not stick their hands in the fire, why not proficiency with firearms. They're here. Kids need the training to avoid accidents at least. Trying to ignore that firearms exist is negligent and stupid. There should be penalties for parents of kids who shoot themselves or someone else with a gun found in the house or even a gun found in a neighbors house, That will put their mind straight. Again on the theme of this post, if people insist on being stupid, make them pay.

    2. my Dad taught us how to shoot - and- to shoot moving targets- he also - wisely said that you cannot give people other people's $$$ -ie welfare and ADC - and he told us that Detroit would 'fall' (my word) because that is what was happening 50 years ago--wise man - my Dad--
Thanks for reminding me- via your comment about your Dad-
my Dad is in heaven- so I will look up and say "Thank you Dad!"

  2. I'm sorry I can't find the Oregon governor's comments because I thought she spoke well on your subject.......she's on video all over the Googlesphere but I'm getting tired of clicking on an 'article' title and getting a video; I think the media knows Americans can't read anymore, it drives me wild. I want to READ, I don't want to listen and have to write it all down for the blogs, etc. Having griped enough by now!, she said, basically, that there isn't much you can do about a guy who suddenly decides to do something this rotten, that there's no planning that can prevent it. I think she's right....she said it better than I paraphrased her and went even further, but....

Imagine a country which has to have schools with armed guards on campuses .... imagine that's the great America. Odd they didn't even come close to needing this even 20 years ago, isn't it.

Imagine the guards at this school, TWO of them on a campus that's sprawling, not a campus of high buildings..it's sprawling, how's two guards enough? And they're UNARMED! they have tasers, I think I heard... "oooh...I'm scared, aren't you!?"

And another thing is the media can't get ANYTHING straight...some say he was enrolled in that class! Some say he lived in the Midwest....etc etc............
    I'm finished bitching now :)

I think you're probably right, Kid.....if the families sued the school, maybe schools would gun-up.......whatever happened at Sandy Hook? Metal detectors, I think!?

  3. Z, I didn't hear the governors comments.

Guards at schools? We have guards at banks to protect the bank's money, Why not to protect People. That's not a come back at your comment. I simply took another opportunity to make a point. To your point, Well, if we need guards at schools then so be it. We have buses, books, teachers, and pretty much everything else that is needed, why not guards? It's just part of the current matrix.

I think the bottom line is that we must realize the schools, universities, and colleges don't give a Shit about their students lives. They only care about their net profit. It is long overdue time to change that. Think about how much they'll invest into their sports programs, or any other programs that bring money in. It' is easy to see where their focus is and where it is not.

    1. I only mentioned guards in school because it's so tragic America's so screwed up that we now need them.........for YEARS, Americans had guns...in the South, Easterners who hunt, etc etc.......YEARS. And no school shootings.
This is a huge indictment of America not guns.

    2. Z, I agree. The America I knew in the 1960's and 70's and 80's and maybe 90's has mutated into something I'm not sure I can even recognize but I know I don't like it and I know it is not healthy.

Just remember stress is the #1 killer. Forget about what we cannot control and enjoy the rest. Don't let them get you coming AND going.

    3. There was a time kids had guns at school, for Rifle Club or just so we could go hunting after school.
I'm tired of companies that won't even let you keep a gun in your vehicle on the premises.

    4. Ed, Word man. Politicians and lawyers have screwed all this up beyond recognition.
We shot .22 rifle in Boy Scouts. I wonder if they even do anything like that anymore. I'm thinking not. Is there any testosterone left? We're gonna find out.

    5. A few years back I recall some discussion about training, licensing, and then arming teachers. It would be on a “voluntary” basis, and of course, the teachers would have to submit to a psychiatric evaluation. My guess is that not too many teachers would want to carry a firearm even for a few extra bucks a month, not many could pass the psychiatric evaluation, and a good number would experience incontinence if they drew near to a firearm. Besides, no one is as close to postal than a teacher, especially after 25 years in the classroom.

Who would want to be an armed teacher —Miss Frisbee? Perhaps Coach Gruntz might be a better choice, but he is drunk most of the day. Hmmm —maybe the librarian?

The discussion did bring up an interesting point: do teachers act in loco parentis over their students? What is the legal argument that suggests a teacher is obligated to risk his or her own life for that of any student?

At Columbine, some students knew what was going to happen and did nothing to help prevent it. Perhaps they were sleeping during civics class. Oh wait —liberals replaced civics with gay and lesbian studies.

We had “security” guards at a high school where I taught 20 years ago. They were unarmed security whose primary job was to break up fights and pick up the high school chicks, which I understand was a great perk for a 30-something ex-convict. This is all over the top since we all know that schools are “gun free zones.” This means that no guns are allowed on campus; end of problem.

    6. Also, why is Fredd always late to our meetings?

    7. Mustang, I don't favor arming teachers unless they Really want to be armed and qualify. This is not their general calling. I favor armed guards whose main focus is Their main focus - evaluate incoming and protect the students and teachers. It's all they do. No distracting thoughts about little Johnny or the work they need to do to prepare for class or grade results.

Anyway, All airports have a multitude of metal scanners. Schools are at least as profitable as airports. Put metal scanner at all entrances to schools. Add man traps to trap the suckers who can't get through the metal scanners.

Beyond that, let nature take it's course, After the first even where ahmed kills a bunch of people at a mall or shopping venue, let those businesses figure out that to attract customers they need to advertise their anti-vermin measures. We will all pay for this as all business costs are passed to the consumer, but as long as we're importing moslem vermin like popcorn, then we must shore up defenses as well. A cost to everything. The businesses that don't protect their customers go bye bye. For example, Target has been hacked twice. I will never shop at Target.

  4. Chris Harper-Mercer graduated from Switzer Learning Center -- at the age of 21, which probably means that he aged out.

Why was he getting his "education" at the center?

My guess is that Chris Harper-Mercer was on the autism spectrum.

It is possible for autistics to devolve.

I recently had one such student, no longer in the homeschool group today. Now he's violent, intractable, etc. He's also all-consumed with time of the web. He idolizes the dark side (Wes Craven, whom Harper-Mercer also idolized). The doctors keep pumping meds into this young man whom I know, and there is no discernible improvement; instead, he's getting worse and worse. His parents are afraid of him. Recently, this young man has insisted that he attend the local community college -- and without any special dispensation for a learning disability. No way can he do the work required in any of those academic classes!

  5. (.....enter Fredd, wiping at a ketchup stain on his shirt that dripped from a Wendy's single burger, no cheese). Sorry I'm late, I was engaged in high level ops and other important stuff, I'm sure you understand.

Wayne LaPierre said it best: 'the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun." Perhaps we didn't have these mass killings 20 of 30 years ago, doesn't matter now. We didn't have AIDS 40 or 50 years ago, and we deal with it now. It's time to deal with these homicidal cowards who only seem to shoot up known 'Gun Free Zones.'

Dr. Carson is wrong, dead wrong. Finding these crazies before they go nuts on others will return us to the bad old days of locking up oddballs in mental institutions, where Nurse Ratchet injects crap into you to stone you into compliance. No, Dr. Carson, none of that as that would create several million mental patients, several million Nurse Ratchets, and a can of worms that couldn't possibly be justified. That, and some crazies will still find a way to murder lots of folks no matter what.

Guns. More guns. In the hands of decent, God fearing Americans. Guns in the hands of school guards. Guns in the hands of theater guards. Guns in the hands of mall cops like Paul Blart. When a coward wants to pick a venue that won't shoot back at him for his planned mayhem, he will come up empty. Wayne LaPierre is spot on correct: the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun. No truer words were ever spoken.

  7. Confiscating guns isn't the answer because someone hell bent on killing is going to find another weapon to accomplish their goal. Designating any place a gun free zone needs to stop right away because it is akin to giving a thief the key to the bank vault and hoping they won't go for the easy pickings.

The heroic vet who stood up to the moron shooter wouldn't have had to endure seven shots to his body had he been carrying a weapon that he was fully capable of handling. Carry laws need to change.

  11. Crocket, Your comment makes me think about back in the cold war days where kids were taught to "Duck and Cover" With all the school shootings kids need to be taught to "attack and overwhelm". 20 people and one gunman? And to just sit there and be shot like sheep...

    2. Adrienne, I'm going to say no one tried to help him. We can speculate as to the why. In short, I just don't think today's kids have what it takes to survive. I also don't think they get any input from parents or education sources to think in terms of being responsible for their own lives and prepare themselves - generally speaking. We're not a country of "Americans" anymore. I can tell you I will not die on my knees.

    3. It's crazy to disarm the good guys. Maybe we could start with our military bases and allowing soldiers to be armed. Of course, with the left it has always been about their good intentions and not the actual results of their ham-hands. The signs make them feel better about themselves. Speaking of signs, I'm from Flint (another democrat stronghold) and am always amazed to see a street sign that is not riddled with bullet holes.
