Bloodhound LSR Hits 500 MPH

As it continues through it's planned testing of increasing the speed by 50 MPH for each successive run to flesh out any problems at various speeds.  I'm sure you all remember that the Thrust SSC which broke the sound barrier on land in 1999 got pretty squirreled around 600 MPH and wanted to go hard left.

  1. I'm SORRY but I hate ANYTHING that "goes far left" (Smile!)
But, seriously, re this car...I WANT TO GO! The fastest I ever drove was 100 mpg in Germany on the Autobahn...scared me to death only because Mr. Z kept saying "You can go faster!" But there was a red light not THAT far up ahead and that freaked me out! I guess it was farther than it seemed!
    VERY cool stuff...I like SPEED!

    1. Glad you enjoyed Z ! Well, never drive out of your comfort zone.

Otherwise, yea, this guy is going to do 550, then 600, then 650, then 700, then 750 which will break the sound barrier again, then 800, then 850, then 900, then 950, then 1000. Imagine making all those runs. It's the smart thing to do, but it also exposes you to danger a lot more times.

I'm not sure when the rocket engine will be employed. So far it has only been the jet engine.

    2. PS - I've passed cops on the freeways of Phoenix, AZ going 130 on my motorcycle while they were going 65. :)
