Some Drugs Can Be Good

 I know what you're thinking Z..

Excerpt:

But here’s the clincher. After their 5HT2A neural receptors simmered down, they remained firm: LSD absolutely had helped them solve their complex, seemingly intractable problems. And the establishment agreed. The 26 men unleashed a slew of widely embraced innovations shortly after their LSD experiences, including a mathematical theorem for NOR gate circuits, a conceptual model of a photon, a linear electron accelerator beam-steering device, a new design for the vibratory microtome, a technical improvement of the magnetic tape recorder, blueprints for a private residency and an arts-and-crafts shopping plaza, and a space probe experiment designed to measure solar properties. Fadiman and his colleagues published these jaw-dropping results and closed shop.

At a congressional subcommittee hearing that year, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy grilled FDA regulators about their ban on LSD studies: “Why, if they were worthwhile six months ago, why aren’t they worthwhile now?” For him, the ban was personal, too: His wife, Ethel, had received LSD-augmented therapy in Vancouver. “Perhaps to some extent we have lost sight of the fact that it”—Sen. Kennedy was referring specifically to LSD here—“can be very, very helpful in our society if used properly.”

"Hey" thinks the government. "We can't be having the citizenry getting too smart ya know.  They might just figure out what we're up to." (My thought on the matter)

And then this link from yesterday 7-24-2012

Excerpt:
All this means that tripping on mind-altering drugs like MDMA
could become a regular part of therapy to treat conditions from
depression to post-traumatic stress disorder, addiction, chronic
pain and obsessive-compulsive disorder in the next two to five
years.

  1. You know what I'M thinking? About Acid? I went to a therapist for a while because she did 'past life therapy' and I found that fascinating. She gave LSD to CARY GRANT and other big stars! Thelma Moss was her name; very famous.
I think it's NUTS to take this stuff but what's really odd is that my next door neighbor was outside walking his dog when I stopped my car to say HI..."You smoking a cigarette?" "A joint," he says... OY. We chatted and I drove the rest of the way home and thought that the only people I knew who smoked dope were those who got kind of 'dumb'...'like hey, dude' dumb. Maybe I'm wrong. But then I thought about LSD and thought "maybe acid makes you enlightened... but I'll bet nobody in China or Russia's getting dumb on drugs!" So tell me why you thought I'd be thinking! xxx

    1. Well, you've always been totally anti all drugs as far as I know. Anyway, lots of people have testified that LSD "got their mind right". George Carlin for another. In fact George said after you've taken it a while (somewhat short time), you don't need it anymore therefore you have no reason to take it. You don't get high anymore. You no longer feel the mental effects.

    2. Ya, pretty much anti-drug, mostly because I know other countries don't have the drug dependence we have here....that's just true. And LSD is probably different...Thelma kind of changed my mind about it becausE she was really SO smart and did good work with it. I had a sales rep close friend, too, who'd done acid many times and said it was enlightening to him. LSD....I don't know. I'd be WAAAY too scared to take it in case I had what they call a BAD TRIP but I almost did, unknowingly. I was at my boss's house doing something for him, alone, when a sales rep came to chat...I reached into the fridge for a bottle of wine and he slammed the door with my HAND in it as he saw I had the wine..."Do you know Dick puts ACID in his wine?" No. If Yegal hadn't been there.......who knows what I might have done to myself? That was a God wink.....why Yegal came over just to chat is beyond me.

    3. Good thing Yegal was there Z. One thing you don't want is to take something that strong without realizing it and not know what is happening to you.

I think the experience depends on a person's core personality.

    4. KID, that's the impression I get....depends on core personality, yes. Not knowing what was happening to me would have probably done me in. xxx

  2. LSD never gave me any insight that lasted longer than the trip.
Except the insight the last time to stop doing it.
Soon after I quit drugs, I got the greatest insight of my life.

    1. I imagine it's different strokes for different folks Ed. I remember hearing about bad trips and such. Interesting subject anyway.

  3. I’m no expert, Kid ... but to start with, I would urge Tim to change his last name.

Beyond that, speaking entirely for myself, I don’t trust the government to conduct medical studies or experiments. Can you imagine infecting people with syphilis just to watch them die? What kind of crap is that? I’m not sure I’d want to sign on for LSD experiments, either. Those government scientists (Fauci is one of them) would probably having me sticking ping pong balls up my ass. Who needs that?

“Psychedelic trips could soon be part of therapy ...” Especially on election night. Slip some acid at the door to the voting station, and dude ... everything gets real, and everyone could understand what the referendum means.

    1. MUSTANG...I probably missed something but 'TIM"? You mean Timothy Leary? HE could have changed HIS name....I mean, LSD was largely his baby, so WAS he LEERY about it? Or should he have been called TIMOTHY HAPPY ACID HEAD?! :-)

  4. Well, you bring up Valid Points Mustang. I gotta ask how you know a ping pong ball would even fit. Well no forget it.

I'll tell you what. I will get Biden's goon squad to set up a committee and do a study on this. The committee will no doubt consist of a wide diverse collection of losers who will collaborate and use their unique talents to scam all taxpayer funds allocated. Sadly, it could be decades before we get an final answer.

    1. I have to say that I'm really angry at myself because someone other than me came up with the idea for government-funded methane studies. The Hoola Hoop was another of my missed opportunities. Damn it. Well, maybe I should have been taking LSD all these years.

  5. As Delusional Joey Biden is asking for his “MOM” ...
Has America has become an Elder Abusive Nation.?
Yesterday, as the “President” was speaking in the Rose Garden he said “ :by the way, where’s Mom? “Is she here” Oh, She’s watching at home, oh, I was going to ask her to stand up. But, if Mom if you’re watching at home, you can’t stand up”
Good Grief, the senile Old Moron has finally flipped his lid!

Now we have to wonder if she was among the other 81 millions of dead people who voted for Joe last year! WHERE ARE THOSE FACT CHECKER WHEN WE REALLY NEED THEM?

  7. A ESPN Sportswriter (Bill Rhoden) said on live TV that seeing the American Flag being waved at the Tokyo Olympics symbolizes the "Rise of White Supremacy.".
And that it reminds him of the “January 6th RIOTS at the Capitol Building”.

Did you ever hear such CRAP in your life? Its exactly this kind of “CRAP”, that makes me want to stop watching all this BS on TV. It’s everywhere that you go. On the TV coverage of the regular TV programs that I turn OFF almost every night, on TV Commercials, And especially on Sporting events such as Football, and Baseball is full of it. And now it’s ALL OVER THE OLYMPICS.
It’s just SICKENING! Sickening to see how our fellow Americans buying into this Leftist Bull.
So I turned on my computer this morning to read about the Olympics and the lead story is about that this Leftist “Sports Writer” Bill Rhoden said that “People Waving Old Glory at the Games in Japan Reminds Him of the January 6 Riots at the U.S.. Capitol.”
    Bill Rhoden
Now first of all, what the HELL does the January 6 Riots at the U.S.. Capitol have to do with Sports ?
He said seeing the American Flag being waved in such a way causes him to ask himself "WHAT AMERICA AM I LIVING IN?" Well where the HELL would he rather live? In China? Russia? Iran? Or Perhaps Cuba? Where else in the world would he have such a Sweet Job as to be sent to Japan and be put up in some beautiful Hotel to watch and write about the Olympics? I’d really like him to answer that question!

    Then he said.......
"My favorite part of the Olympics was always going to the stadium for the opening ceremonies," Rhoden said, I love the opening ceremonies, the march of countries.
Then I just realized, you know, man, particularly after these last four years, I had it wrong. I keep thinking back on the Capitol riots, and I saw a lot of, you know, US flags.
So now when I see the flag and the flag raised, what — what America am I living in?"

These media analysts, and writers like Bill Rhoden have to be a Special Kind of Idiot to say something as stupid. As he did. I wonder if that snowflake broke down and cried like that Capital Police office did, or like that PHONY Wittiness at Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s hearing Christine Blasey Ford did.
Let me end by saying that .Bill.Rhoden is a freaking Joke, and that we need LESS people like him in this Country.
And By The way, .the American Flag also represents the Downfall of Fascism and Communism, the End of Slavery and
The Start of Civil Rights Laws and Freedom to People Around the World Like From Cuba, and all over the Communist Countries That Risk Their Lives to Get Here. That’s EXACTLY Why we See those Millions of People STORMING OUR BOARDER to Get In.

An honest, and decent person would have known all of that but William Rhoden is not that person
