Evolution As An Explanation.

If all life on Earth came from the "Primordial Soup" that was created by comets and asteroids impacting a cooling Earth, then we must assume that all planets with similar atmospheres and with available water must certainly contain life.  The elements that exist on comets and asteroids would exist everywhere in the universe at the same time Earth was being "seeded" with the stuff of life.  Life on all those countless trillions of planets inhabiting those trillions of galaxies, which have had about the same amount of time to mature to roughly the point humans have.  There should be countless numbers of individuals and mature societies out there.  Why can't we find one?

Finding one would involve seeing evidence of organic development in the atmosphere's of these planets. We have the capability to see that now using light filters and techniques for planet discovery and we have discovered a great many planets within the confines of our own galaxy.

  1. I lack your musical ear, of course so I’ll go with however you judge this. As to the primordial soup, I definitely think it is where liberals came from. There is just no other possible explanation.

    1. The Blob was the very first movie that game me nightmares, but yea, I can see the connection. They are all of one mind that's for sure.

    2. I was first terrified by the Werewolf of London.

    3. Steve McQueen was the scariest one in the Blob, for me.

    4. IMP, McQueen didn't bother me much. His script was pretty lame though.

    5. Mustang. Seriously, primordial soup results in a planet with millions of species and all the things they need to survive?

Even if it was primordial soup, who cooked up the soup ?

  2. I think libs are more like the Borg.
I also think, given the overwhelming evidence of design, and the inability of man to duplicate an accidental development of life, evolution is now the religious belief calling for a blind faith.

    1. You give them credit for some intelligence then?

    2. Ed, short answer is I believe micro-evolution, not macro. Honestly, take some chemicals and produce over any amount of time a creature with locomotion(Ok) but then eyes, a brain, a skeletal structure, a nervous system, a skin, the ability to repair itself to some degree. It seems impossible. As impossible as so many monkeys pounding out War and Peace on a million typewriters.Never happen.

Good point about blind faith really being a belief in evolution from some chemicals into what we see here today. That's blind faith.

    3. Foolish right wing nut jobs, don't you understand that you will inevitably become one with the left? Resistance is futile.

    4. Fredd, I've always been on the left. I just don't have the customary mental disease that goes along with.

  3. "Why can't we find one?" Seems to me that's a huge comment in favor of GOD?

    1. It is ... vis-a-vis The Privileged Planet.

    2. Z, See my comment to Ed. I favor Intelligent design by an incredibly more than mortal being.

Mustang, yes it is The Privileged Planet. Jackpot. Thought it Is hard to think only one jackpot has occurred. That in itself doesn't seem natural, and God is all about nature to me anyway.

    3. God created this world, Kid ... he can create other worlds as well. All of this knowledge will come to us in time.

    4. Mustang, I'm down with that. I most certainly don't think any of the 'ants' on this planet have any conception of the realities of this universe we live in. Throughout history, people have stood up and announced "I have the answer!" only to be proven wrong in less than a sliver of time. I don't place my bets with those buffoons.

  4. There's nothing to preclude God having created life on other planets.

    1. Mustang. Thank You Sir. It was a good day full of accomplishment and a couple good meals so far. The evening is also going well. With a little perspective we all have very little to complain about.

Not having served, I will say Semper Fi to Conservatism, America, and to America's warriors at least.

  8. First, let me get this obligatory portion of the "comment" out of the way: I agree with your assertions. Now the part that really disturbs me. I don't remember this scene with Data singing. Either I haven't watched every Next Generation episode a dozen times or I am becoming forgetful. Oh, and I agree with your assertions.

This was one of the episodes where Data had the emotion chip installed.
