General Motors is Professional Grade?? Really?

Maybe if we lower the standard to the level of the Russian made Yugo...

So, the current CEO of GM is in Congress to sit on the hot seat of massive recalls of Serious Issues.  Did you notice she took over just before these gross abuse issues came to light?

Where in the hell is the former CEO and the one before him and the one before him going back to around 2003 or so, when it was Obvious that there was a major issue with garbage ignition switches that would switch the car off whilst a person was driving it and likely needed it to remain on.

Where are they?  Hell, they're enjoying their big salary and bonus cache, probably on a beach somewhere yukking it up.

Cars that turn off while driving.  Steering wheels that fall off the Cruze, (now Axle problems) while driving.  Friend of mine has some little chevy that was 2 years old.  They tried to insert the door key into the door and the lock just pushed inside the door and fell down behind the sheet metal to the bottom of the door.  I don't think Russia made a piece of shit that bad.

Put GM out of it's misery.  Create a new company and product line that its workers can be proud of and enjoy a robust career with.

You know GM is just getting started with the recalls here right?  And guess who is going to pay for all this?

    1. Ed, yea, in fact, obama's Car Czar didn't know anything about cars, or business for that matter. No experience whatsoever.
Feds will own it again, because it's too damaged I believe, and when you got a crazy uncle bailing you out, it's easy to fail right?

  3. UNBELIEVABLE.... You heard all about the pride the GM workers felt in their company/their work and thrill for being bailed out.
    Ya, right.

    1. Z, I don't think there's much pride. They're dependent. Just where libtards and unions like their people. They see the parts coming in from outside the company. American cars? Good God, another incredible lie.

My Toyota Tundra at 75% American parts and labor is more American that just about any American car.

  4. Family worked for the Detroit auto companies as engineers- drafts-men- they were proud of thier companies- and the excellent products -SAD-

as you know - I follow the Money--
just found out that there is big money in recalls- because- the owner of the vehicle has to pay for the parts that need to be replaced- --
A $1 here- $100 there + multiples- and your talking big bucks--

    1. Carol-CS, Really. Just these recalls? or all recalls. I've never heard that. Anyway, when the dealer does the warranty work they bill the factory for the labor and make a lot of money at the dealer. I do suspect the recalls were ignored to save a few bucks.

  5. On the plus side of the ledger, at least this story is being covered by the media and has a congressional inquiry looking into what's happening with this outrage. Since the American taxpayer bailout of General Motors in 2008 something even more outrageous is happening as GM has moved most of its production (70%) outside of America and much of this is in China now. This according to the CEO of GM.

    1. Waylon, Yes, again, why aren't prior management people being called up. Putting Barra on the fake hot seat means it's nothing more than the usual dog and pony show and means nothing.

I've seen that GM in China vid soon after the bailout. Saving American jobs. yeaaaa !

There is nothing left that isn't some Bullshit scam is there ? :)

  6. Not to much, haven't heard much about the original share holders (GM), were they left with nothing-or paid an amount not disclosed.

    1. TS/WS, I do know the holders of the common stock lost all when GM filed bankruptcy then issued new stock. The bond holders may have got something but I don't know. Didn't bother following up.

Personally I see this situation the same as the airlines. When they found out the government would bail them out, they found a way to always report losses opposed to profits. Taxpayers will be bailing these slugs out forever. Politicians and union management will get rich off it like they have been for decades.

  8. The bankruptcy was just a way for the government to bail GM and the unions out. We should have let nature take its course through normal chapter 11 procedures. The same number of people would have been working the following day, the debt holders would have held the equity, and the unions would have been buggered as they do everyone else. Instead, Obama crafted an unusual bankruptcy, that was illegal in its entirety. This is what we get with government intervention into the economy.
