It's Just So Damn Hard, Isn't It? To Accomplish Something.

For the federal government I'd say it's impossible.  Unless it's in the category of thieving, evilness and removal of personal liberty, and other myriads of human abuse...

Excerpt from a Ronald Reagan speech on proposed Welfare Reform Feb, 1986

I'm talking about the crisis of family breakdowns, especially among the welfare poor, both black and white. In inner cities today, families, as we've always thought of them, are not even being formed. Since 1960 the percentage of babies born out of wedlock has more than doubled.

Read the whole thing, from 30 years ago.

The problem has only gotten exponentially worse.  It is going even more exponential, and it's the biggest problem in America today.  Destruction of the family unit.  Where the family unit is needed most.

So what are we going to do about it.  Not a damn thing.

  1. No, we are not going to do a damn thing about it. In fact, we encourage quite the opposite.
There's our 'king and queen', the despicable Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, unmarried...with a baby.
Then there's the royal couple expecting their child...and the media calls her Kate Middleton as IF they're not married...well, that's just an observation I made lately, I guess it's not important to your post.

Your post IS important...we started paying dads to leave families when welfare first started, and it's been downhill since.

Man, Kid...we are in SUCH trouble in this country and it IS the family unit's dissolution causing it, I really believe that. There's no more "what would my folks think if I did that?" (bad or good)..there's no caring for the older folks, there's nothing......just NOTHING.

by the way..what COULD be done?

    1. Z, your point about kate 'middleton' is very much to the point. I didn't notice, but since you did, I conclude it's intentional.

What could be done? Stop paying women to pop out kids like pieces of toast. There we go again btw - the libtards support abortion but at the same time support the idea that women be allowed to bring children into zero opportunity, drug and crime infested environments.

It's just further proof of how indescribably stupid they are. There are no bounds to their lack of anything that might resemble intelligence, let alone any kind of sense. You probably have people in old Tennessee manning the stills (yes they do exist) that have more sense than today's urban libtard. Stunning.

  2. I believe it was Milton Friedman who said something about the importance of limiting family size so as to be socially mobile (from one class to another).

    1. AOW, I'm not sure I get Milton's point. I would say family size should be limited by the size of family the parents can afford. If that is 17 kids or Zero, I'm good either way.

    2. Kid,
Part of Milton's point was indeed related to affordability of family size (as well as to being able to afford education for all the children); the other part was related to the fact that a smaller family size will result in being able to pass along a significant part of wealth to each child via a last will and testament.

There was a time that only the oldest child inherited anything because that's all the wealth there was to pass along. Often the younger children had to scramble.

    3. AOW, That must have been pre-inheritance tax. :)

  3. Z makes a good point about Kate Middleton. Lady Di was not called Diana Spencer after her marriage to Prince Charles.

If 75% of black kids are born into unwed homes, and over 50% of black kids are aborted, where does that leave us? Sad.

    1. Opus, Yes, unbelievable isn't it ? It's coming at us through a trillion gallon per minute pump now and 50% of the population supports it and they are growing by the day.

I'm at a loss for optimism, and my middle name is optimism.

  4. Immigrants used to come here to work hard and make a good life for they and family.
Assistance used to be given to people who were embarrassed to have to ask for a hand-out but had no choice.

Now both are coming here and taking the free money enthusiasticly. Many aren't even aware of the concept of personal responsibility - accountability.

It's not going to go or end well.

  5. God didn't intend to limit the family size by any economic standard, social or moral one.

  6. Dad-a Detroit small business owner- told us 'kids' -40+ years ago -

"You cannot keep giving people others people's money to have children out of wedlock (ADC) - and money for not working --and expect the economy to keep going."

    He was right-

Detroit - the once beautiful city is now a total dump and has been for some time!!
