Loved the 'training video'. I would have loved to see the blowup auto pilot take his turn. I do love slapstick and those movies were great. As for the scorpion on the plane, at least it's not a bat in your salad :)
DaBlade, The Nielsen movies were great. I wonder if someone put the scorpion on the plane. I don't see one walking up the stairs or down the tube thing - jetway?
I remember the Airplane movies. I loved how the Leslie Nielsen character gets in one last slap as he's leaving. I still find that hilarious today. Heaven forfend the PC implications...
As far as the scorpion goes, holy cow! My dad had a scorpion in his pants once, but he wasn't on a United flight.
Cube, that 2nd slap is genius. Scorpions are probably one of the bigger things to worry about in the Southwest though not lethal. I hear if you take a black light out at night you can see them running around all over the place. I never tested that out though.
I did have one chase me in a supermarket in Phoenix once.
Not much to it. A friend and I walked into an Alpha Beta (Now Albertsons) on the corner of Rural and Guadalupe in Tempe actually. 10 or 15 steps in there is a scorpion, flesh color about an inch and a half long. We stopped to look at it and it started moving towards me. As I moved away it followed. I just walked a little faster and left it in the dust. They're not that fast. Stuff like that happens out there so we didn't bother telling anyone. We were at a strip mall once closer to the actual desert and there was a small rattler with a crowd of people around it - still 10 feet away. Someone official came and caught it with one of those pole things and hauled it back to the desert. The smaller they are I hear the more lethal the venom is.

I think I want to hear the backstory about Kid getting chased by a scorpion in Phoenix and I don't think I'm the only one.

DeleteThat's funny. I should've known it was going to end up like my shark bike story .Still, it was a good story and I'm glad you survived.
DeleteThat's FUNNY!...the scorpion is NOT :-) did they offer the scorpion $800 to GET OFF THE PLANE?! :-)
ReplyDeleteZ, No offers to the scorpion that I'm aware of. :-)
DeleteNO scorpions in Flint, Michigan. They can't survive our winters... or our lead.
