Well Well Well. Looks Like DJ Trump's Irish Proverb Actually is Irish

  1. Heh! Z did the heavy lifting. The one time that my anonymous sources let me down (the inebriated homeless man living in a nearby alley and the inexpensive hooker I keep on retainer)... no more ripple or half a pack of smokes for them until I get another good lead.

    1. Mr Blade, maybe try upgrading your source perks to Night Train or MD2020 and Tiparillos?

Or may WaterBoard them ! Yahoo !

    1. Another one for FT

The singing isn't very good but the guitar is nice.

    2. YEAH! That's really cool Kid. It's tuyted as "a wild ride," but even though the beat is lively, it sounds downright soothing to me. I love the sound of plucked strings, when made by an expert, and Chet certainly was that –– and then some.

    3. I agree about the second selection. I don't care for the sound of Anita Carter's voice at all, but Chet's accompaniment is beautiful –– strange the a guy as gifted as he would record with a singer with such a raw, wide open, abrasive sound.

Were they ever an item, or something like that? His talent is miles above hers, that's fir sure.

    4. FT, Chet was billed as country guitar, but even early on he played classical stuff. He considered that the guitar could be played to sound like a piano and he did a good job of it. Very eclectic.

As far as Anita Carter. He was happy just to be in show business coming from the grinding poverty of his childhood. Early on he did a radio show with the Carter sisters along with their mother Maybelle. He married Leona Carter and did various gigs with the Carters.

Yes, that is some Smooooth guitar.

You've seen this? Worth the time I think.

    5. The sheer beauty and refnement of Chet's work transcends the limits of the "country" genre by miles.

If he had wanted to Chet could have rivalled Segovia in the classical guitar literature. So too could Tommy Emmanuel, of course. Both those guys are true musical geniuses. The Carter girls? Meh! Not so much, but I know they had their devoted following. I just cold never have been one of them.

Anyway, thanks for all this good information, Kid. I'm always glad to learn more about music.

    6. FT, People just trying to survive for the most part. And Chet was never focused on becoming Mr Guitar, I'm sure he was just workin it too.
