Some years back, I stopped at a rural country store and asked the old-timer directions. His answer was quite clear and to the point, "you can't get there from here"! Looking at the above image, I begin to understand what the old man meant.
A rhetorical question. :) But thanks for answering. Wise guy. Real question: Does it look the same from any angle and how would we know? Go ahead, tell me by looking from a different angle.
Isn't Hubble able to travel "over, under, and around" these things and take pictures from many different angles –– or am I as hopelessly ignorant and naive as I'm afraid I am?
DaBlade, Noting has to do with joe plugs biden or any other democrat unless it somehow made its way from HELL into our plane of existence. Temporarily or otherwise.
Ed, The North Eastern area is subject to stuff in the water and the air. Imagine witnessing 9-11-2001 in person and Still able to vote democrat...... Profanity ensues.
Do you THINK God could be trying to tell us that all political posturing and no playful humor makes us dull witted?
Sorry! I'm leaving out words that i could have SWORN I had typed more and more.
This ridiculous new spelling checker that constantly tries to SECOND GUESS me every time I make a typo is no help either. IT fills in what IT thinks I MUST have meant, and it is ALWAYS wrong. *~&*+#@*%$^%&@!!@#@"!!!!
I'm sure that is it FT. God's creations remind us of the infinitely minuscule nature of all these stupid human tricks.
What device are you using that is doing the spell checking? I find I've missed some words I swear I typed as well when I re-read. Function of age is my guess. Or it could be all those women in lingerie walking around the house.
Hi, Kid. The spelling checker came wth the new Mac I was forced to buy a few months ago, when the one I'd had for twelve years gave up the ghost. I wish I could turn it off. Any chance?
In YOUR case I'm sure it's the women in lingerie ––you lucky dog!
In mine it's definitely AGE, legal blindness, and ARTHRITIS, dammit.
The spirit is still willing. The mind still active (as far as I can tell ;-) but the flesh grows weaker by the month, double dammit.
FT, Nothing good about getting old, other than those lingerie clad women thinking I'm harmless ! Pounce ! I'm not familiar with the MAC yet. Google that sucker "Turn off spell checker on MAC, then whatever OS you are running"
I'm reminded of an old sacred song two of my aunts used to perform during family sessions around the Baldwin grand:
"Eye hath not seen. Ear hath not heard. Neither have entered into the heart of Man the things that God hath prepare for those who love him."
All these bizarre, mysterious phenomena just help support mybelief that we know so little about the Cosmos we ought to stop worrying so much and just trust in God's infinite wisdom to see us through to Better Things BEYOND.
Even if that is not strictly true, it still helps a great deal to make our daily lives more pleasant and more endurable during the bad times. I think the cynics, the scoffers and the "dialectical materialists" must suffer most. We should be able to see that from their constant complaints, endless fault finding, and projection of fear, distrust and inner torment they wish upon the world.
FT.. Blind Faith is difficult, but then again, it is easy to conclude none of us knows jack about anything when you get down to it. Interesting balance.
C-CS, I guess there are a couple good folks on FOX, Cavuto maybe. But in the end it's all clickbait. None of them inform us about anything important. The news is based on an assessment of how to keep the viewer from changing the channel. Ad Revenue.

ReplyDeleteRon, that is a wild image. Never saw anything like it and expect there are millions more unique images out there.
DeleteI'm often surprised at the profiles we see.
ReplyDeleteWe appear to be looking at a disk obliquely and not tilted at any angle.
What are the odds?
Ed, 359 to 1. (given a 360 degree constant)
DeleteWell 179, 180 degrees is the correct odds given that we'd see the front or rear side of this. Seeing the front side only is 360.
DeleteA rhetorical question. :)
DeleteBut thanks for answering. Wise guy.
Real question: Does it look the same from any angle and how would we know?
Go ahead, tell me by looking from a different angle.
Ed, From any angle? No definitely not. Such as face on or edge on galaxies. Enough of both to be maximum entertaining. Beautiful.
DeleteIsn't Hubble able to travel "over, under, and around" these things and take pictures from many different angles –– or am I as hopelessly ignorant and naive as I'm afraid I am?
DeleteFT, No, Hubble can only do line of sight.
DeleteWow. Evocative of the infinity symbol. Kid, this is one of your best showings in the Astronomy posts. department.
ReplyDeleteCube, Thanks to Apod. Wild stuff.
DeleteI'm guessing this violent stellar explosion has something to do with Joe 'plugs' Biden. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteThat Eastern Seaboard thing....

It's probably the Universe's butthole for all we know but it still beats the hell out of looking at the latest Democratic whinefest in the media.
ReplyDeleteReally, a good, looong look at God's Creation bring all this petty political BS into focus. It's nothing but a distraction.
That's how I feel Sig. It's getting to be like listening to little brats at a restaurant with no one to get them under control
DeleteLooks like a game of Ring Around the Rosie outlined in neon lights to me!
ReplyDeleteDo you God could be trying to tell us that all political posturing and no playful humor makes us dull witted?

Sometimes I catch it, often I don't.
Know any way to DISCONNECT the damned thing?

Kid, these don't at all look 'nature made'...VERY WEIRD! Very interesting find! yikes!
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought Z. Lot's more out weird stuff there.

DeletePS - I haven't watched the news for decades. The only time I see it is when Mad has it on and I can't get far enough away from the TV
