.
I'm down with that. When I read about things prior generations were capable of, especially during wartime, and look at today's graduating class, I am dismayed. We need kids who are inspired and here is just a small piece. It's an 11 minute vid but I think you'll be happy you spent the time watching. Forget about the globals warmings nonsense within
Here is they and Andy Green doing the 763 MPH. Andy Green is an active duty RAF pilot
Just Had to add this one. And au contraire to some of the comments at youtube, Andy was Incredibly calm as indicated by his purposeful trained breathing and narrative.
..
When is the sound barrier broken? Sounded like they did it.
ReplyDeleteFaster than a bullet.
You need three people: 1) one to say, here it comes. 2) one to say, here it is. 3) one to say, there it goes.
cool!
ReplyDeleteo yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. have a great Sunday my friend~:-)
ReplyDelete@They Say, Sound Barrier is about 750 at ground level.
ReplyDeleteI Updated the post to include the video of them doing it back in 1997.
@Opus. It's scheduled to run this year last I heard.
Woman, You Too !
Wow, that is one fast car!
ReplyDeleteWe need to get kids inspired, because there isn't much to do so lately.
Have a fun Sunday, Kid.
Bunni, You too.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't drive it, that's for sure.
Hey kid - I believe you have a need for speed! I'm glad someone desires to better himself and a new generation. I'm discouraged with my coworkers because they have NO drive!
ReplyDeleteDeanO I have a need to watch it !
ReplyDeleteToo bad about your coworkers. And that describes too many I think.
Indeed - I've never seen the 763 mph land video....when they heard the sonic boom...excitement. Wow, that's beyond awesome
ReplyDeleteDeanO, Yes sir. More vids out there on Youtube. This was a short summary type vid.
ReplyDeleteI followed it at the whole time in 97, and it was curious as it seemed no one else was interested.
I can't even imagine what that looked like from the cockpit which was Much lower to the ground than the camera mounted on the tailfin.
Here's some pure ride along video/audio
I always wanted to try the luge; my husband said "You, my dear, sweet, but chicken wife?? do you know how FAST that goes?"
ReplyDeleteit's slow compared to this!
The design reminds of the SR-71 Blackbird-
ReplyDeleteWOW-
Any on the market now- and how much!!?
: - )
Carol-CS
Z, the Luge is fast. Every time I think about the luge, I think of the time we were in our early 20's out tabogonning and drinking.
ReplyDeleteOnce I was in the front and we zoomed down a hill, headed straight for a tree about 12 inches around. I spread my legs and stabbed my feet into the snow, fortunately stopping before hitting the tree dead center.
OOfta as they say in North Dakota
Carol-CS, Yes it is just as awesome. As soon as they are done with it, I will buy it for you. :)
