Sanctions, Embargoes, Asset Freezes Oh My!

.
.
Oil Embargoes were one of the main reasons Japan decided to attack us in 1941.

Now Iran.  It's coming. Quick like a bunny.

Not that I'm worried about Iran's capacity to do us harm, I'm not.

But we are going to find out pretty soon who will prevail in the ME over the next few decades at least in this Iran war of 2012.

(You know, unless barak oblabber can diplomicize the heck out of the supreme Butthead of Iran into going back on his last weekend promise to Exterminate Israel...)

Update, I just found this Theme Song of the Iranian Navy !

Iran will continue its quest for nukes, Israel will simply not allow that.

    Period.

They will bomb the shit out of several Iranian nuke facilities, and Obama will sit on his hands, much like Carter. And I am OK with that, frankly. The Israelis can handle themselves, as their existence is on the line. Just ask Achmadinizad...

We now have 17 hostages held by those Egyptian animals who are now in power, we'll see if this develops into the next Jimmy Carter moment.

  2. Egypt Hostage Crisis? Oh, I believe it will Fredd. Based purely on the fact that if Ronald Reagan was in the White House, it would already be over.

They know this idiot ain't gonna belly up. Especially during an election year. Imagine getting these people killed, including lahood.

You know what are these people doing over there? Gotta be money laundering because no one except the liberal monkeys that show up in cyberspace on people's blogs would Ever believe that they were there to 'help foster a Democracy'.

    Good Lord.

  3. I am very sure Obama's happy to push Israel under his proverbial bus...I also think that, if Netanyahu tells Obama anything in confidence, Obama'll blow that confidence to prevent Israel from taking action; wait for it (God forbid)

If you don't think Iran can cause great harm, even to us, today, read some Kenneth Timmerman (read it only if you don't scare easily!)

    good song for the Iranians!

  4. It's gonna build all year long----why change Presidents in the middle of a war situation?
    Re-election tactic?
    That's how FDR did it.

  5. Kid,

About not worrying that Iran can do us harm, all may want to rethink that a tad.

With our absolute lack of control on our southern border (by design) and Iran's proxy forces Hezbollah and Hamas to be known crossing into the U.S. much harm could be achieved. Adding to that their sympathizers who already reside here and we have an Iranian proxy war right on our own soil.

I am not implying we back down nor should Israel for that matter. No, I am just saying that when this escalates and it will, that we in the U.S. act like those in Israel and be prepared for any eventuality - at home.

  6. I'm hoping they aren't holding any missionaries. They are very active in that country. Quiet, but active.

  7. Z, oblabber's Very visible statement to Netanyahu to go back to 67 borders was telling the radicals quite specifically that Israel does Not have America's full support - while he's occupying the White House anyway.

Or egging the Iranians into a fight. It's possible.

But in the end, I think making a statement that Israel has America's Full Support would be the better option. We're going to squeeze them until they burst either way.

  8. Opus,

I hope the Israelis win, and I hope we help them and that the idiots crawl back into their caves for another 1000 years.

Tensions this high must be satisfied one way or the other. And in this context I'm talking worldwide. Let's get this thing on and see who is standing when the bell rings.
I'm real tired of these street gang thugs prancing around the world spouting their violent nonsense.

  9. They Say, Fear IS a very common re-election tactic. Maybe the most common. Fear and 'your' wallet is 99% of the vote.

  10. Christopher, I agree on the cross border localized violence. That will always be with us. I'm talking more mass murder, like a nuclear event.

I guarantee you, no one is going to bring any kind of significant nuclear material across the border. There are too many sniffers for that.

Biological? Yes, more possible, but then they take the risk of worldwide epidemic and wipe themselves out too, or if they did enough damage, we'd retaliate with Nukes.

    I hope we would.

  11. Sig94, I don't know what to say. A missionary in Iran or any ME country, has to be like a Ranger going into Normandy in June 1944 it would seem.

I would personally consider that a suicide mission.

  15. Woman, whatever happens is going to ratchet things up over there.

Again, Fine by me. The way to deal with bullies is to pound them into the ground.

This rock is not big enough for both of us - islam and everyone else.

  16. The Iranian Mullahs do not have the support of the majority of the people. A war helps them clamp down on the population, just as a war here will do the same thing. It's a perfect scenario for the Elite of the world.

I don't believe 99% of what I'm told about Iran, especially after I've learned how darn lucrative a war with Iran will be for certain people. Maybe they're hoping to get it going and suck more of our money out via Defense Department, which is just as unauditable as the Fed, before the whole economy crashes.

I like reading the Intelligence Experts out of Israel who seem to be less up in arms about Iran compared the American population. Could be they're more desensitized to this kind of propaganda.

  17. RM, yes, there is the money laundering aspect. I don't spend a lot of time worrying about Iran. It's not like I can do anything about anything over there.

It also wouldn't bother me to see us bomb their military infrastructure and put them back a couple or more decades.

They do have lot's of problems, even if they are able to chuck a little satellite into orbit. Their military aircraft is barely able to get off the ground due to lack or maintenance and expertise in country; their civilian air lines crash a lot for the same reasons. They can't even protect their Nuclear scientists in Tehran. They don't have much on the ball. As long as we don't have boots on the ground, or that is limited to a small number of Spec Ops guys. Those guys live for that stuff.
