"President Barack Obama said Tuesday his government's plans to combat an expected spike in (A)H1N1 flu were "extraordinary" but warned Americans to follow advice to stave off infections."
Emphasis is mine.
I thought it was the people's government, not his.
And what is so extraordinary about having only half of the H1N1 vaccine ready by October when people are already starting to get it like gangbusters ?
Emperors New Clothes in real life.
Given that I work in the health care field, I think the dire warnings are overhyped and, at this point, unfounded.
ReplyDeleteWhat will probably happen: This flu season will be mildly worse than others, the majority of cases will be swine flu, but we won't know, since testing has been discouraged due to cost overruns, and that younger people who don't get vaccination before October will be more susceptible to death than others.
Anyway, the bottom line is this: It's an overblown precaution, and even if it wasn't the vaccine will be introduced late into what should be an early flu season, so most people who WILL get it will have it BEOFRE a vaccine is available.
So...tell me how Obugger's doing any good in this regard?
