Did Orwell Predict The Future or Did The Future Happen Because of Orwell's Predictions?

If the latter, I suggest we no longer give society our genius..

Well some Other Thoughts the last 30 minutes or so:

What did you have and what have you lost ?

Observers of the human condition are we
Naive to think we can save every tree
or that this is even a good idea, this interfering with nature.

I reveal my age by telling you I never saw or heard of anyone who looked anything like any image you will see on an image search of 'body modification'.

Road kill and solar panels are mostly responsible for the early death of God's creatures.

Out of political correctness this comment is both included and excluded.

The stray Calico who has lived on our back deck for a couple years, has by way of an exceptionally cold winter, found the delicious and sublime comfort of the good life on this side of the door.
It's raining and it's pouring and this old man is snoring.  That's what she says anyway.

Imagine how much better the Twilight Zone series would have been with today's video and graphic tools.

I watched most of the new Superman movie and have the opinion that it sucked.

Why isn't most of Congress in jail for perjuring themselves when taking 'the Oath'.  And isn't this the very exact reason for the 2nd Amendment?  Damn straight !

Why do we put up with moslems in our midst, the 'peaceful' ones are on a mission to breed us out, their main mission.  It's happening big time in the EU. Right. Now.

Why do we let less than 3% of the population control the narrative in this country the last 9+ years ?

If you're white and male you are now being racially and gender abused.

If you're female, Good Luck Gettin a Date as we move into the feminism era ! Unless you're a lesbian.

Who is putting all the plastic into the oceans?  I don't think the evolved civilized countries are doing it.  And we want to send billions of condoms to Africa ?  Imagine being a fish in that area of the world.

We probably are over fishing.  Is any resource sustainable ?

Everyone is probably dying of cancer because of all the nuclear bomb testing post 1950.  Would we even have nuclear weapons if it wasn't for Hitler?  Would we have Hitler if it wasn't for the severely oppressive Versailles treaty?  Would we even have a Versailles Treaty if it wasn't for a bunch of blow jobs reluctantly going to war (WWI) over the assassination of some butthead that no one gave a shit about?  Does that even matter?  Isn't mankind (or peoplekind as Justin Trudeau would say) always on a course of self-destruction?  After all, it is much easier to screw things up than to improve them.  How is it we have a few younger generations of people who are dumber than any of us were at the age of 5 ?

Hasn't it always been this way (Screwed up)?  Does it matter? Should we focus only on the things we have control over ?

Is there any end to the ways food can be prepared ?
ICE says sanctuary cities are the very reason for the large numbers of arrests of illegals in those areas - Natch !  Fisherman go where the fish are.

Players only love you when they're playing.

Don't think twice, it's alright.

Rush Hour Freeway in Cincinnati - let's just not go there.

Can all this be fixed with anti-anti-psychotic drugs?  Or how about no drugs or social media, discipline in schools and warm bottoms at home in a male female parent environment?  Yea, too much to ask.

There are So many beautiful places on this Earth.  None of them are in Oklahoma.

I have 2 step authentication on everything important (that provides for it) and have frozen our credit at the 3 credit agencies, have multiple sets of image backups and I am impervious to any kind of cyber attack now.  I'd be happy to give anyone details.

Man I love Meerkats.  Also called Siricats.

My favorite Salvador Dali paintings include Battle of Tetuan and Dream Caused by a Bee Flying Around a Pomegranate.

I appreciate the obsessiveness of Martin C Esher

Hope you're all doing well.  Those of you who know who you are and those like you.

  1. That is a lot to digest.
And a lot of good stuff, but I think you stole a couple lyrics there, except you predicated that these were thoughts rolling around in your head, so they need not be original.
Hmmmm. Does that mean that you may not really have two step authentication, but only heard someone else say that recently, and repeated it because it sounded good?
And have you seen ALL of Oklahoma?
I'd always read that the Prince Ferdinand assassination provoking WW1 was a result of "Secret Treaties" and wondered, if they weree so secret, why they were honored, to the detriment of the signatories.

    1. Thanks ED. Yea, a little Fleetwood Mac and Dylan there.

The 2 step is all true.

Any time I've been through Okla, driving between the coasts, about 5 times, it has either rained or snowed during my entire time in the state. Well, the rest areas, even near major cities like Tulsa look like they were transported from the Russian outback, so it's not hard to think they don't put much into their infrastructure.
The truckers tell me they've never heard language on the CB like they hear in Okla and the whole place seems to be driven by oil drilling.

I don't have a Phd in the assassination details but read enough to believe the jist of it was no one cared about the guy, but someone caused national alliances to be made and then pitted against each other. No doubt self-interest, profit, and land resources were in focus imo. Same as it ever was? I guess we've been in some conflicts defending freedom and democracy. Why do all the other countries conflict ? Is Russia really trying to spread communism or is it a desire to increase their land, resource, and revenue, and thereby standard of living. Right now, 146 mil people are majority living in efficiency apartments within huge apartment blocks. Putin recently replied to a question of what he would change if he could go back in time. He said Preserve the USSR.

  2. About saving the trees, I recall that George Carlin offered some interesting observations about saving the planet. Earth was here long before we were (including trees), and it will be here long after we're gone. So, beginning in the 1950s was a campaign to stop human beings from doing things that resulted in a short life. No alcohol, no smoking, use seatbelts, and stop eating at McDonald's. Now people are living longer, and the left complains about the costs of social security, Medicare, and elder-care facilities. Makes you want to ask, WTF?

The world's population is increasing exponentially, but the world's resources (including fish) are not. This was a message we received beginning in the 1960s, so thoughtful couples stopping having four, six, or eight children. Thoughtless people, which is to say fourth-world wogs, have increased their birth rates. Yes, they will breed us out of existence, but if it makes you feel any better, ultimately, they will one day breed themselves out of existence because they've eaten all the fish.

My theory is that leftists know that they are idiots; they've embraced the notion. They are proud of their idiocy and work hard to maintain it. Not even Orwell could have imagined that ...

  3. Mustang great analysis as always. We push the yellow button down only to see the red one pop up unexpectedly.

A world dominated by islam makes me envision the whole place looking like the recent pictures we see of Syrian cities. I predict there will be a mass extinction event based on some biological affliction caused by people praying to a moon god 5 times a day rather than working on medical cures?

Orwell and the lefties. Yes, the lefties continue to find new levels of stupidity and likely will never hit bottom.

  4. Good observations. Overpopulation is indeed the greatest threat (on of) to human continued existence on the planet.

Forced sterilization anyone? Now there's an ethical and controversial topic.

    1. Naw, these things are self-correcting.

    2. Forced sterilization was a favorite topic of Margaret Sanger. It's almost working, but only in depressed black and white-trash communities. Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood remains the darling of the American left.

    3. Sanger never supported forced sterilization.

Honestly, I hate to gush, but I've read it twice and, somehow, it's mesmerizing. Hypnotizing.
    I just LOVED IT, Kid.
    seriously

    1. FT, Some smart guys back in the day. I have figured there wasn't much to do back then so why not expand the mind. Today, those who allow it are drowning in external input. It can be hard to do any pure thinking unless you isolate yourself.

    2. YUP! That's just about what I've done since I retired and then got widowed soon after, Kid.

I live alone, see very few and frankly iI LIKE it that way.

I do a lot of praying and thinking mostly at the same time.

It's a great luxury I wish more peple could afford.

The sophistry put out by the LEFT got its deathgrip on us because the majority of people never THINK, they only EMOTE.

The folks who want to be BOSS just LOVE keeping people ignorant and unquestioning of authority. That's what PC is all about at root,

Maybe, but Rod Serling would never be allowed to chain smoke his Chesterfields today, and that would ruin the entire show for me.

"Should we focus only on the things we have control over ?"
If you can figure out how to do this, please pass it on!

Gotta go. I need to google Martin C Esher. I need to google Martin C Esher. I need to google Martin C Esher.

Bell Circle in Revere is my favorite.

    3. Duck, NTSB reports Cincy and Boston the most dangerous places to drive. I'm not just talking accidents though. We are the dysfunctional driving capitol of the world. Few know what road signs mean, especially Yield. Few drive at or above the speed limit. Like driving in a zombie paradise which can be applied to all driving situations.

I like roundabouts though. Drove them in England. Very efficient.

    4. Yeah but try all that without using your directionals.

    5. Boston is a piker to Naples Italy. And it has a Yuuuge roundabout.
      And roundabouts suck.
