  1. Niagara Falls lighted in purple! No end of amazing things out there, is there?

Any official scientific explanation or conjecture as to what The Star of Bethlehem actually might have been?

Do scientists even believe such a thing existed?

Hey! Merry Christmas, Kid! –– to you, your wife and all the cats and dogs in your domain.

    1. Merry Christmas Franco. Some think the Star of Bethlehem was a very bright Super Nova.

No End to it Franco. The whiz kids think there are 10 Trillion galaxies just in our universe.

  3. Isn't it amazing that, as children, we would spend hours in the spring and summer, laying on our backs, looking up into the sky, and imagine all sorts of things we could see in the clouds. Now, as adults, we're doing that same thing with formations in space. Aren't we a curious lot? It is beautiful, as are all your postings of space.

Merry Christmas to you, and a Happy New Year.

    1. Sam,
      I remember those wonderful hours.

Merry Christmas to you, my friend.

    2. Merry Christmas Sam. Thank you for your appreciation. Yes, we want to know it all and yet only know so very little. I remember those days too, but with the light pollution we couldn't see very much. Big Dipper, and things like that. I've never personally seen the Milky Way but would like to. Imagine what Magellan could see out in the middle of the ocean on a moonless night. You could see so much more in those days, it is no wonder people were fascinated with spacial objects.

    1. Aow, I thought of you as soon as I saw it. Adrienne too as she is also a fan of purple.

Well, that is quite a compliment and I thank you. I'll return it AOW. You always add value and positive things. I hope Christmas is great for you and Mr AOW, and maybe just a little magic tossed in.

    2. Kid,
Not such a good Christmas here. Mr. AOW is still in the nursing home. His condition is brittle, as the medical people say there. Something is seriously wrong with his pancreas.

I will, however, bring him home for a few hours to visit the kitties and open a few presents—and have a cup or two of my special blend coffee.
