Take My Word For It

Galaxies are merely fireworks happening in agonizingly slow motion.

The Big Bang is also the Sloooooww bang.  Nothing wrong with slow I guess.

Thoughts?

Yes, of course you can click the picture and go read about it.

  1. Things are spinning out of control fast enough.
    Faster would be worse.

    1. Ed, wait a darn minute now. Wouldn't it have been good to have obama's reign last 8 minutes instead of 8 years !??!?!

  2. O, GOD, OUR HELP IN AGES PAST

    (verses 3 - 6)

    3. Before the hills in order stood,
    or earth received her frame,
    from everlasting, thou art God,
    to endless years the same.

    4. A thousand ages, in thy sight,
    are like an evening gone;
    short as the watch that ends the night,
    before the rising sun.

    5. Time, like an ever rolling stream,
    bears all who breathe away;
    they fly forgotten, as a dream
    dies at the opening day.

    6. O God, our help in ages past,
    our hope for years to come;
    be thou our guide while life shall last,
    and our eternal home.

    ~ Isaac Watts

    The great poets, mystics and enlightened theologians were able to grasp the mystery and immensity of the Cosmos and our seemingly insignificant presence in it without benefit of scientific knowledge. It looks as hough Science is proving the validity of most of the great insights given by the Saints and Poets. Our ,little cares and woes seem like nothing when measured against Eternity.

  3. ________ Eternal, Never New ________

    The years are naught but Man's invention,
    As is Time, itself.
    'Tis been, since Eve, Man's mad intention
    To manage Life, himself.

    In Truth what is has always been,
    And will last evermore. ––
    A perspective few have ever seen ––
    A sea without a shore.

    We drift quite helplessly upon
    The surface of the waves
    Charting courses, till we've gone,
    Instead, on to our graves.

    Though we may seem to disappear
    From our loved ones' view,
    There isn't anything to fear
    We shall return anew.

    This never ending cycle
    Upon the shoreless sea
    No matter what we’d like to think
    Recurs eternally.

  5. These fireworks are happening in real time, but they're so far away it looks slow. It takes eight minutes for the light from our sun to reach earth and it's close by astronomical standards.

    1. Cube, You may have something there. Might I also suggest that time is moving faster and faster because we are getting closer and closer to that black hole in the center of our galaxy.

  6. I'll just say this. Am I the only one to find it disturbing that this large behemoth collided with that smaller galaxy? I don't care that it was 100 million years ago. There is no statute of limitations for galaxy bullying.

    1. DaBlade, I have already brought charges against all colliding galaxies and have filed them in the International Criminal Court. Sadly the cases are currently delayed because of climate change and transgender bathroom rights discussions. I fear we are pissing off a great many alien cultures.
