Free College Right Now for Everyone

Everyone knows that when the government guarantees student loans, colleges raise tuition.  It's simple.

Now because of the half-white, half-moslem in the white house and his income-driven repayment plans, anyone still breathing will now go to college.  Many of those kids will get as much out of college as they did from the first 12 years of public school and will graduate with enough cred to work at McDonalds.  Because they're working in fast food or some other minimum wage job-if any job at all, their loan repayment minimum will be about 5 cents a month.  Free College. Eventually, I predict that loan amount will be completely forgiven lest the government be seen as "big meanies".

We've only been at this a year or two? and already the program has sucked 22 Billion (unexpectedly-lol) from people who are paying a net positive amount in federal income tax.

From the LINK...

In budget-speak, the Department of Education summary said: "The 2015 amount includes a net upward reestimate of $21.8 billion, primarily related to revised interest rates and increased participation in income-driven repayment plans."

In other words, swelling enrollment due to looser loan rules is driving up costs -- a lot.

Gee, I wonder how much was "rise in interest rates" and how much was  "Increased participation in income-driven repayment plans".  Believe me even stupid morons can smell free money well enough to make a plan like this look like a Great White in a swimming pool full of quadriplegics with water wings.

Well, it will go like this. Some people will go to university fully intending to learn and earn.  And they will because Loser simply isn't in their DNA.  This program will make it harder for them because they'll be surrounded by Losers who have as much chance at a professional career as Bruce Jenner does at looking attractive before or after his sex change.

Colleges aren't going to turn anyone away because Free Money.  Nor will they fail anyone or expel them except in cases where someone says something negative about a moslem, black person, or homosexual, the most heinous of crime in the current day.

When will we hear the phrase No College Student left Behind.  It won't be long.

  1. True success comes to those who strive to achieve great things, not because of our system of education, but in spite of it. I think in the longer term, there will be a very large number of college graduates "left behind."

    1. Mustang, Obviously I agree. On the brighter side, we can all say we've had our fast food burger and fries made by Phd's. Hopefully they won't be forced to try to make change because of a computer failure.

    No doubt.

I'm glad that I'm nearing retirement. Yes, I love working with homeschoolers, but now their parents have to sit in on my middle school classes to try to make up the gaps in these parents' own educations. Middle school! Can you believe it?

And all of these homeschool parents have college degrees, too -- some degrees from prestigious universities. What the hell were their majors, anyway?

    1. Kid,
The situation is pitiful. These parents are learning -- and I don't fault them for that. But they should have learned all this material long ago.

    2. AOW, for future / eternal :) reference, when I complain about today's teachers, I'm sure not talking about people like you.

      Yea, amazing isn't it?

    3. Kid,
I no longer teach in the traditional classroom, which I left forever in 1997 when I departed a private school that was on the downward slide. I couldn't hang millstones around children's necks.

  6. Bill Bennett came up with the Bennett Hypothesis.

    1. The Bennet Effect. No doubt at all Ed. And some of these universities have say 40 billion in a fund. Where's the OWS people when it comes to the raping the colleges are doing? Well, hypocrisy is a libtards middle name.

I've read quite a bit making the case that college doesn't have a lot of value anymore in terms of resume power or further education for that matter outside of the professional degrees like engineering, computer science and such. How many kids take those kinds of majors? In fact the few young waitresses I've run into and where the subject has come up have all taken some major on the environment, and all of them think we need to cover the world in solar panels.

Every single one of my Chinese students. They are Americans and Christians.

    3. Kid and Ed,
Back in the day, a liberal arts degree meant something.

I tell you that my program of studies in liberal arts was a bear -- with a concentration in Spanish Literature.

      I attended college from 1968-1972.

When did the big slide start?

    4. AOW, It sure seems the Chinese in general have a thirst and talent for learning. Anytime an entire college class splits their sides at a speech given by timmy geithner about how their investment in US dollars is safe, you know they have something on the ball.

AOW Well I didn't go to college. There was no money in those days. I'd say things started to turn with the women's lib movement - the bomb dropped by Russia to break up the family unit in America, but not the first, LBJ dropped a bunch of them starting in the early 60s that got the communist ball really rolling.

    5. Kid,
There's no shame in not going to college. I am the first in my mother's family to attend college -- and my mother's family were bright people, particularly in mathematics. I didn't get the mathematics gift, but rather my paternal side's language and music gifts.

It sure seems the Chinese in general have a thirst and talent for learning.

      Yes, they do.

Last Saturday, I was tutoring two of my Chinese students at the library, which was hosting a string quartet in concert in the lobby. The only people gathering around: Caucasian elderly and Chinese families with their toddlers and young children. The Chinese with whom I work love Western culture (fine arts); I can't say the same for the Caucasian families or for the black families. Very sad for the future, IMO.

    6. AOW, I don't 2nd guess it. One can go crazy 2nd guessing life paths.

Yes, very sad, and it gets worse by the minute.

  7. Today is Valentine's Day. The most LOVING thing any set of parents could do would be to inculcate a love of READING for PLEASURE and studying HISTORY from good OLD book published before 1965. Teach them when young to be CURIOUS about life, to learn to love Nature and as many things of beauty and brilliance as they possibly can -- at HOME.

Take them to museums, trips to historic houses, to concerts of classical music, show them as many natural wonders as possible, have a qualified person tutor them in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Literacy -- and THEN -- make sure each of their children learns a good solid TRADE.

It might be better for their mental and moral development to take them to a WHOREHOUSE than to let them get within ten miles of a COLLEGE CAMPUS.

Dolleges and universities today are little more than MARXIST INDOCTRINATION CENTERS.

I'd rather a child of mine be a good carpenter, plumber, electrician, auto or airplane mechanic, a farmer, a gardener, or a digger of wells, etc. than to have him or her become part of the Great Gray Brotherhood "conditioned" to "conform" to the dreary tenets of Socialism.

    1. I couldn't agree more FT. Yes, great comment. Of course the kid has to be interested in such things and I think more and more are not, being totally immersed in social media and its technologies, and pleasure themed activities. With the government having the spigots wide open doesn't motivate them to take the extra steps to make themselves self-sufficient, intelligent, well-rounded critical thinkers.

They go hook line and sinker on anything coming from the government. When I was a kid we knew politics was corrupt and never believe a word that came down from these people. Totally the opposite today.
