There are some incredible photos of the massive turmoil of the sun's surface.

  2. Fascinating, but it looks much more like a closeup of a section of that Persian cat's fur in the last post than it does any flower I've ever seen, unless maybe a dandelion gone to seed. ;-) But FUR is definitely the term that first comes to mind.

Another reminder, of course, that what we we "see" with our naked eyes, and perceive through our other senses is just the tiniest fraction of what Reality really is.

It makes me feel humble, and more sure than ever that God is real. With that in mind I've never understood why so many atheist-agnostics who prefer to rely on what-they-think-of-as "Science" can be so arrogantly cocksure that their pitifully limited understanding of Reality is so superior than that of those of us who work to maintain our faith in a Higher Organizing Creative Principle and Governing Force than the mind of Man?

I don't know much, but it has always seemed to me that the more we learn the more we ought to realize how very little we know, and that what we like to think we know may in fact be very different from what we've always believed it was.

    1. FT, Exactly. How arrogant to believe that you know all there is to know about anything, let alone universes and Gods.

Yes, so many images trick our minds. Most of us see faces in just about anything for example.

The more I know, the more I realize I don't know.

    1. Baysider, Welcome. Yes it is. I've been going there every day for years. It is only getting better as our space based and land based telescope technology evolves. Sometimes land based images outdo the Hubble. And the descriptions are written by smart people :)

Remember that clicking the picture there will almost always get you a huge HD version that you can explore in more detail.
      Glad you enjoyed.
