Another Potential Mass Murder in a Gun Free Zone

.
.

What's this, 137 of them now since Columbine ?
Someone should have been in this school and have shot this kid dead by now.

UPDATE: 11/30/2010 - this link is no longer pointing to a valid page. Shocka !
(You know if it's actually "news", it shouldn't be legal to remove it once it's been presented. It could be updated, amended, and noted, but it should always be available in an archive. Otherwise it's little more than blabbering BS and should then be labeled as such, not as "news")

Oh, and in case they change the picture in the story, note the SWAT team guys hiding behind the fucking wall, totally Not ready to save anyone's life inside.

I'm really tired of this crap.  Gun Control. SIUYA.

  2. Mr Smythe, No sir, and it looks exactly like the picture of the SWAT people hiding behind trees during the Virginia Tech episode.

    Damn sad.

  3. If more people could CCW, even on campus, freaks like this guy would not feel free to wreak havoc.

An armed society is a polite society.

  4. @ Opus…Teachers, maybe. Students? No way!

@ Kid…No students were hurt besides the shooter, and SWAT didn’t provoke a shooting spree that caused students to be shot.

    Can’t we trust that SWAT

a)Knows how to handle these situations better than the average citizen, and

b)Understood the situation since they were in contact with the teacher in the classroom, and

c)Knows when it is and is not appropriate to take the Harry Callahan approach to hostage situations?

  5. Opus, I'm all for carry with permit. They are allowed to at university in Utah.

  6. Arby, I think it just worked out well this time. It didn't at Virginia Tech. That Korean kid was shooting people while SWAT hid behind trees.

Personally, I think SWAT is more concerned about lawsuits against the city/locality than they are the victims.

I don't think they particularly handle a situation well from the viewpoint of the victims.

I didn't know they were in contact with the teacher, but now you're implying the citizen in the classroom has control of the situation if it was the teacher that caused them to wait outside.

I think at VT, if kids with permits had guns, the murderer there would not have killed nearly so many. You hear shooting, you duck into a classroom exposing your eye and right or left arm and gun and begin firing at the murderer when you determine he/she is exactly that which would be 100% if you witness them shooting at someone unarmed. Or you command them to drop the weapon and if they take action to shoot at you fire away. It's not that hard.

And police aren't particularly better equipped to handle such a situation than any other group of people assuming sufficient training which the permit dictates.

Plus you have the deterrent factor. I say that Korean would have never gone in and ran around VT at speed if he knew X % of the students were armed.

Same with Columbine. They chose a gun free zone for a reason.

I believe things would be much better if kids were taught gun safety early in school using wooden mock up guns of each kind, revolver, semi-auto, rifle, semi-auto rifle and people were armed in any given situation.

How about the dude who had carte-blanc in a McDonald's killing many. The authorities didn't help anyone there either.

You'll never get the guns away from the criminals so I see it as no choice to allow people to defend themselves which would include kids with permits.

Bad situations would occur, but bad situations are already occurring. Allow people to defend themselves.

  7. The Lubby's restaurant in Texas, were a woman eating with her elderly parents, had a permit; but the law said no carry in the restaurant. She was forced to leave her piece in the car; and watch her parents shot in the head!
She said next time she will go to jail before going anywhere UNARMED.
The shooter drove his car through the front wall of glass, opened the car door and walked around shooting everyone in line of sight, walking right by the lady's table.
I don't know about you but it is evident that some of these nut job shootings are orchestrated.
The slip of the tongue let the cat out of the bag, when Ted Koppel interviewed several psychiatrist after Columbine. I caught it and told several in the room watching with me. Then Ted Koppel had the same bunch on again after the Military recruiter stated that the two guys had psychiatrist drugs in their system; after the OFFICIAL AUTOPSY claimed no drugs were found. Then had to do a two step excuse, for not reporting the White Coat/High Induced Death Trip Roller Coaster Pills-on those two quine pigs-err patients. And that bunch let it slip again and I was vindicated because the same people were watching the second night with us. They said the first night that I was reading to much into it; until the second night interview. Ha

  8. They Say, That's darn interesting. I'll have to look into that some more. And I'm certainly not disputing you. We are often used as test subjects...

And yea, if you're in a situation where you Need a Gun, a gun is the only thing that will help you and it needs to be accessible and usually ready to fire in under a second.

The government's abuse of the 2nd amendment is proof positive they couldn't care less about our lives. Which of course means that they don't care about any aspect of our lives since death is about as serious as you can get.
