Kid, the Moonlight Sonata has a special significance for me. My brother used to practice this piece ad nauseum when we were kids. He was not a real piano player, so he had to practice and practice and practice to get it right, necessitating all sorts of patience on the part of the people who shared the home with him.
Almost all the music I buy was written at least 125 years ago. The newest classical CD I bought was Wagner's Der Rosenkavelier published in 1905. I do listen to Garth Brooks though as well as the early Stones and Beatles (before it was obvious they turned into drug freaks).

ReplyDeleteIn that case, I hope it's been a Long Long time since you've heard it.
ReplyDeleteI once tortured family members too.
peaceful-smile moment - thank you--

hey kid, whose Beethoven? Kid I grew up with my pops and siblings playing this music...kinda spoiled I guess. Opus - glad the kid made things right
ReplyDeleteYes, it has been years and years. Sweet of you to think of me. :)
ReplyDeleteCarol-CS, You're Welcome.
ReplyDeleteAnd somehow, I don't think people will be playing old Kiss tunes hundreds of years from now.
Certainly the Beatles.
Maybe Pink Floyd..
DeanO, Nothing like the classics.
ReplyDeleteOpus, I think of you more than I do Pelosi, which is a good thing for me.
ReplyDeleteOld Kiss tunes....hadn't thought of that! Kiss destroyer or love gun..HM, I thinks the classics will always trump Rock-n-Roll...Elvis excluded
ReplyDeleteDeanO, out of 20 years of rock and roll that I lived through, I bought 20 albums, if that tells ya anything. :)
ReplyDeleteI really don't care for most of it, especially what they play on the radio.

ReplyDeleteSig, I like a lot of the classics, usually the complicated stuff, and not so much the well known tunes. though I can't give you much of names recital.
