  1. Sorry, Kid, to go off topic, but I think this may be important.

FRIENDLY ADVICE to MR. TRUMP and HIS CAMPAIGN:

If Mr. Trump is smart, he will denounce the tactic of emphasizing the exposure of his PRIVATE conversation with Billy Bush as dwelling on a triviality when

    1. Dealing humanely with ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

    2. Our FAILING FOREIGN POLICY,

    3. Dealing DECISIVELY with ISLAMIC TERRORISM,

    4. Welcoming INDUSTRY back to USA with massive TAX BENEFITS in exchange for providing more and better JOBS for AMERICANS,

    5. Dealing effectively with the TWENTY-TRILLION DOLLAR DEBT,

    5. Scaling Back the Massive, Overbearing MUCH TOO COSTLY BUREAUCRACY,

    6. Making a serious effort to RESTORE and BOLSTER the VANISHING VALUE of the DOLLAR,

    7. RETURNING LOCAL-CONTROL to EDUCATION, and ridding us of the NEA

    8. And of course getting SERIOUS and providing SERIOUS PROPOSALS for REPLACING OBAMACARE with a SYSTEM that WORKS, etc.

All THESE things should be uppermost in EVERYONE'S mind.

Dwelling on M. Trump's TAXES, his pursuit of OBAMA'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE, his private dealings with WOMEN, and the merits and demerits of Mr. Trump's PERSONALITY is as INANE as it is TRIVIAL, and he should immediately DISMISS and DENOUNCE all references to these things as BALONEY, then pivot to asking questions of his own as to why his militant adversaries show no interest in pursuing issues that MATTER. to the health and strength of the NATION.

    1. FT, If only we had a majority of thinking caring people, we wouldn't be having this conversation. The beast is so much human garbage it is unbelievable it is running.

  2. We will never agree on politics, but on Benson... 100%!

I've seen him live a number of times, once so close I could see him sweat. His work with Chet Atkins was classic.

    True greats, both of them.

    1. Dave, Benson is the real deal. He calls his style of playing Caterwalling. He's got an instruction vid on youtube where he talks about that. Yes, he and Chet made a copule or more albums together and recorded more that hasn't been released because the record company dipsticks involved can't agree on the royalties.

Later in Chet's career, Chet reached out to players he admired and some of them got together for recording. Along with George was Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits and they made an album called neck and neck.

There are also a couple Jerry Reed match ups. Me and Chet and Me and Jerry - really good stuff - pretty country.

      I've never seen George live.

If you like this kind of guitar, check out Tommy Emmanuel. Plays 300 concerts a year every year worldwide. Great live performance if he shows up in
      your area. Here's one

  3. I've seen Benson twice... it was a big date concert back in the day. Thanks for the video pairing Benson with Atkins. Never saw that before.

    1. Cube, I should have also mentioned that later on Chet made some records with several guitarists he respected and who would be interested in recording with him: Steve Wariner (read my Licks), Mark Knopfler (good one called Neck and Neck), and brought a lot of them to live performances to play along - Richard Smith, Larry Carlton, Tommy Emmanuel, Eric Johnson and others. Man, if you were someone in the 60s and 70s especially who was interested in guitar, you knew who Chet was.

If you ever get bored out of your skull, this is a good one with many of artists that you know talking about him.
