Ride Along With the Blues

If you haven't yet, you really need to ride along with the Blue Angels in one of their shows.  The Blue Angels are much more awsum than the Thunderbirds.  I've seen both many times and Naval Aviators are rock stars.  Imagine landing a jet on a small patch of runway that might be bobbing in the ocean at night...

That was a short uneventful one.  There are others on youtube that include 'complications'.

See the Blues here.

You might get a security warning since obama considers all Navy pilots as domestic terrorists, just accept them and move on to the site.

Once you get here, click on the deal that I have circled in red to get a larger screen.  If you didn't end up on 'Inside the Demo' Click on Inside the Demo.  Any problemos, comment and I'll help ya out.

I suggest starting with # 7 since 1 thru 6 are kinda boring.  The individual videos should automatically move through in sequence just like scenes on a DVD disk, but you may get stuck on one.  Just hit the back button and click the next one in sequence from where you got stuck to move on.

Lots a fun.

  1. I'll have to pass on the Blue Angels experience, Kid. I get woozy even on the kiddie rides at Disney World.

    1. That's too bad Fredd. No Indian blood in your family then? I'm 1/16th Cherokee and heights never bothered me in my younger days. Not so much now either except I no longer dance on a one legged chair perched atop the US Steel building in Pittsburgh...

  2. Nah, no Injun juice in me. Norwegian blood coarses through the veins, and I like nice, flat, level terrain, you know, stuff you can plow.

    4. Z, Ignore the security warning. The site is Ok, I vouch for it and will cover costs of damages to your computer up to one million dollars.

  4. Great Stuff, Kid ... the trick is to learn how to think about things that haven't happened yet, 20 nautical miles in front (or behind) you. Yeah, the Blue Angels are primo ... but then again, they are NAVAL aviators.

  6. I watched it....it's all black with little lights...that's not scary to watch, but, on the other hand, I don't see the big woop?

I always think it's so funny that a jet can fly from Frankfurt to LAX and, when it's ON the ground coming into the terminal area, there's a little guy on the bottom with both hands in the air, leading it in...as if it didn't need help on the way, for 10,000 miles, but now it does, to park? :-)

    1. Z, that sounds like the "Landing a jet" one. You must click on "See the Blues here" and ignore the security warning.

  7. When I saw this headline, I thought you meant really ride with them in the plane. A computer simulation isn't the same. I want to ride shotgun.

    1. Cube, I will see if I can arrange that. Advance advice - don't eat anything for 24 hours in advance.

    2. Good advice, but I may not need it. I'm one of those people who can eat and go on a roller coaster eight times or on a wild boat ride in rough seas without the usual side effects. There's always a first time, I guess.
