Wouldn't It Be Fantastic To Live In Paris !?

F Bomb Contained Within.

Well, actually - No I don't think it was be fantastic to live in Paris as an average Pierre.  As you can see by the graphic below, if you took the 6.7 Billion People On Earth and concentrated them according to the density found in Paris today (Which translates to how many square feet each person gets for their living environment, sans politicians and "others" of course because they are special), it would only take three small states in the USA to house all 6.7 Billion at that density.

I'm sure there are some things people love about Paris, but I'll bet being a citizen there with their tiny apartment and very limited personal space in general, I'd say it pretty much Sucks.  This is what socialism does.  It separates the common peasant - that's you, far away from the privileged - that's the politicians and other in crowd people,  and it has you living like a head of cattle, while they shear you of your wealth, liberties, dignity, healthcare, privacy, and everything else most sane people value.

Course if you vote for democrats you may as well walk around with a sign on your forehead that says "Please Fuck Me Harder and Take More of My Liberty, Because I Like It"  Shave your head also and tattoo on the back, "Yes I Am A Moron".

  1. So you'd rather live in Houston than Paris?

    To each his own.

Hell, apparently you'd prefer a hole like Houston to San Francisco or New York.
Something about that Southern intellectual Sargasso sea makes it desirable because you have more room to be bored out of your mind.

    1. Duck, San Fran? have it. New Yoik? Take it. Both of those places are worthless shitholes with the fantasy sauce to appease shallow folks like yourself.
Paris? Works for me to think of you living in some POS 700 sq ft apartment looking out the window saying "Oooooo, Paris" while you serve your masters.
      Yeehaw!

  4. I lived in Europe for six years, in West Germany specifically. The citizen's whose homes and apartments I visited were indeed miniscule compared to typical digs in the US. Their refrigerators (if they had one) were the size of the standard college dorm ice box. They had to pay quite a chunk of change to rent a parking space for their car (if they had one). And if they had a car, it was the size of a Smart Car, and that is saying something since I was there in 1976 through 1984 or so, with a few years back in the states between stints.

Life in Europe is cramped, inconvenient and poor. And I bet things have gone downhill since I was there.

    1. Fredd, yea, the quality of life for the masses sucks. There is no reward but to pay more for your efforts. Socialism 101.

And France... people think that car burning thing by the muslims was a one off. Nope, they burn 100 cars a night, every night. Maybe the government pays them to do it so they can keep making peugots and keep the workers there from being unemployed. They sure don't sell those out of country. And the last thing they invented over there was a new flavor of Brie and another spicy mustard. Ooooooh France, how dreamy!

England sucks now since they fully accepted multi-culturalism and disarmed their population decades ago. Now they are the 2nd highest crime rate for personal abuse crime in the world. Jolly old England. It happens that easy, and we've got some seriously evil mental cases like feinstein and the hordes of loser moron democrat supporters cheering them on, so it could easily go exponential here. I hope there are some states that will defend themselves from these vermin zombies.

    2. Kid: I know people in Oregon as we speak who would love to ban the automobile, force everyone onto mass transit or bicycles, and outlaw suburban living.

    3. Fredd, We were just yukking it up about that today. These idiots over-paying for environmentally friendly vehicles... and just google China Pollution. Add India and every other developing nation.

These morons aren't even pissing into Space, let alone the ocean with their 'war on climate change'.
I'm almost laughing to hard to type right now at those morons.

    4. I'm an American who moved to the UK 20 years ago. Yes we get less living space for our buck here and I do miss my huge yard and deck but in every other respect - culture, history, safety, healthcare, education, food quality, quality of life - the UK is a far better place to live. Can't speak for Paris but I've visited many a time and it's a fabulous city.

"2nd highest crime rate for personal abuse crime" - say what? What utter bollocks. I think you'll find a lot of "personal abuse crime" in the USA ends with a bullet to the head - differential reporting. Hey there's lies, damn lies and dodgy statistics ......

Maybe it's great for you, probably dependent on the area you live in as is usually the case. I lived in New Duston, near Northampton when I was there. Pretty docile.

It makes perfect sense that when everyone is unarmed, a couple kids with baseball bats or knives can easily overtake the residents of a house. What would you do as a home owner if they bust in the door and you can't even get to a phone.

The number of crimes in America that involve a legally owned gun is in very small numbers to the right of the decimal. They can't keep heroin away from 13 year old's here, and we're supposed to think they can keep guns away from criminals? mexicans coming across the border like flies? any number of other types of predators? The government itself? No thanks.

      I'll keep my guns.

As far as Paris, the average resident lives in a 500-700 sq foot apartment. No thanks.

Best to you. I Loved the English people when I was there, but quality of life, standard of living? I don't know about that - everything was twice as expensive and people didn't make any more than they do here. Multi-culturalism will kill your country pretty quick though. The Church of England predicts you'll be under sharia law in about 22 years now.

    6. I don't know Northampton. I've lived in Devon, Hertfordshire, Gloucestershire ..... all pleasant enough counties, mix of rich and poor and pretty happily mixed in terms of ethnicities and religions. Yes there are a few inner city areas where multiculturalism isn't working, but you can count them in single digits. Sharia law? Nonsense. Muslims (of whom most are moderate in their views) make up just 5% of the population. Christianity IS in serious decline but that's a move towards agnosticism/atheism NOT conversion to Islam!!!!

What do you do as a homeowner if someone busts the door and your gun is not by your side? Do you seriously carry everywhere? Do you sit in the yard enjoying the sunshine with a gun by your side? It is SAFE here in the UK. My kids can cycle and walk everywhere. People aren't fearful, locked behind gates and constantly traveling by car here. It's a freer life here.

And I don't know how long it is since you were here but consumer goods are cheap now. Property is more expensive than much of the USA but generally you are paying for location ..... to be part of a community rather than stuck out in a soulless suburb. We have a modest income but a great house - detached, bit of land and we can walk to schools, leisure facilities and shops. In the US I had a huge house and yard but had to drive everywhere. There wasn't even a sidewalk if we did want to stretch our legs. Gas is expensive here - wow! - but fuel economy is better on the cars here and there are plenty of public transport alternatives. Also the towns and cities are so close together that we don't have to go so far here.

Sorry, I've gone on a bit. It is interesting to compare notes with a fellow American who also lived in the UK. I guess you were never tempted to stay? I miss the USA a lot but this is my home now and I feel so lucky to be here. Stumbled across your blog and felt so saddened that so many Americans have a poor view of Europe. Makes no sense from where I'm sitting.

    7. I was there in 1990 working on a software project. I did like it a lot, but again found it twice as expensive as the USA at the time. Well, I hope things stay good for you. Maybe it is just the extreme information that comes floating across the pond.

The guns are very close in the house. Statistically, break-ins happen in the late night, early morning house. Multiple gun choices nearby. If we're awake, we'll have plenty of time to get one.
Last thing in the world I want to do is shoot someone, but if it is they or we, I will be happy I have some way to defend.

You folks probably have the impression of a lot of gun violence here. Outside of the insane people like the Newtown school tragedy, most gun violence happens in areas like South Chicago where you'll find the strictest anti-gun laws - as opposed to Texas and Arizona that have the loosest gun laws. In short, predators don't look for the fastest Zebra to attack.

And it always happens in Gun Free Zones.

  6. It seems to me that with increasing population in a given, finite, area comes : more regimentation, less personel freedom, and in some respects fewer resources, more Socialism and attending fiscal problems. For some this is fine, I guess. I personally don't like what it has done to Denver and, moreover, Colorado. In the past 40 years I've seen this once free, common sense, conservative, affordable land of opportunity turn into a congested, mass of un-affordable housing with a state government, hell-bent on controling the populace for no other reason than CONTROL*. All of this as the population increased by 2.35 X. Many who came here were/are escapees from the "Blue States" that they helped ruin but who lacked the common sense to prevent it from happening here. We are now "Blue"! The map (above right) sure shows a strong correlation between "Blue" and CONGESTION; dosen't it!

*OK, I can't wait for some left wing asshole to bring up our stupid, permissive, (illegal under Federal Law) pot law. Now we will have [legal] zombies. How strange that is in a state which disallows smoking tobacco in a neighborhood bar but taxes the hell out of it!

    1. JonBerg, Well, I think all [types] drugs should be legal and sold like alcohol. After which, being caught dealing to kids will be a mandatory life sentence. Dealing to adults will be similarly harsh. Just like prohibition, put em all out of business. Incredible reduction in crime and crime related costs. But I believe the government is involved in the import and deployment as well.

Yea, libtards are a plague. they will never give up on their idiotic dream of an unaffordable or manageable utopia. It's a mental disease. You're right, they've sufficiently destroyed whole states, now they're moving into places like Texas and working on breeding out the people with any sense. It's much worse than people think.

As far as the economic disaster, I think of it this way. Most people can hold their breath for a minute under 10 feet of water but everyone will drown in an inch of water if left there long enough. obama keeps pounding on the economy and one day, it will simply crash like a house of cards.

Absolutely, I've recently heard of some pertty uncharacteristic (for Texas) stuff goining on there; particularly in the schools. OK: Colorado, South Carolina, Texas, et al. What's next Wyoming? Wow, there are pleanty of things left to screw-up there? Indeed, Liberalism is a "plague"!

  9. I LOVED LIVING IN PARIS FOR FOUR YEARS! But..you're right. We had an apt with about 2000 ft AND an elevator. Most French people live in 500 ft, on the fourth floor, with no elevator and no AC (nobody has AC, but..)...and they squeeze into the Metro at rush hour, coming and going...and my husband's company made it so I could be a lady of leisure and we could live in the most tony arrondissement... it was SHEER BLISS.
But I wouldn't live like most Parisians do..except it IS PARIS :-) And that's gooooooooooood.

    1. Hi Z, yes, that's why I was specific to point out the average Pierre's. I lived in England in 1990 on expenses and it would have been brutal to have done it on my own dime.

The English people then were brilliant (Engligh term), seemed very happy, but the difference in the standard of living between here and there was stunning. I purposely didn't talk much about how life in the States was for me.
