Beauty of a Galaxy

Click the picture to go to the APOD site, then click again a couple times to get the high resolution version and the description. Really a pretty little galaxy.  Wonder what's up with the folks there.

And if you like this kind of stuff, they've really been pumping out the high quality images lately.  Click on Archive while you're there.

  3. Like many I often wonder about the vastness of space while at the same time thinking about the unlimited smallness of that other space on a needles point. Had a good friend down in Florida, who has now go on to see his maker at the youthful age of 44, who had a great saying: "where the big meets the small you will find the answer to it all." Think there must be some truth in that phrase.

    1. Ron, that's a good description of how I think about it too. Carl Sagan believed space was infinite in both directions. Solar systems as atoms, Atoms as solar systems. I believe it is infinite.
