Finished the 24 illustrations for my book-they were critiqued the other day so- had time to listen to the Chet Atkins videos--love his execution of the classical guitar techniques... Took classical guitar for 3 semesters -3 years ago- loved it--if I had had an opportunity to play w/ a small group - I probably would have continued.. Having been classically trained for singing - the ability to carry my own accompaniment (pianos are hard to carry :-)-made the guitar appealing..
Have a grand and peace-filled Christmas - my friend... Carol-CS
Carol-CS, I'm glad you enjoy it as well. One thing about guitar is you have to have a lot of time to practice. Working a day job, then all the stuff at home leaves me not enough time. Chet wrote a book that I haven't read but in it there is a line near the end I think where he tells of falling asleep every night in a chair with the guitar on his lap. That's a lot of practice.
And he recorded most of his stuff at home in his basement studio in the morning they say. There's a guy on youtube with an ID of daffydoug that I think has uploaded just about everything Chet ever recorded. Here is the list if I just plug in daffydoug
