https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioOzsi9aHQQ Daniel Castro isn't near the talent Tommy is but I REALLY LIKE HIM! Just got turned on to him recently...have you heard of him? PURE BLUES>
Hmm...where's my other comment I left earlier? Let me just say I like this Tommy cut, but my head (bobbing back and forth) liked it more than I did :-)
Z, I'm seeing your earlier comment and will forthwith listen to the Castro tune.
This Merle tune really is a blues tune and I hoped you'd hear it that way. Hope you did. A story of America's coal miner people. An extra bonus fact is that Chet Atkins had a daughter and named her Merle after Merle Travis.
I am tapping my toes and snapping my fingers out of sync with no semblance of rhythm ala Navin Johnson on the porch of his ancestral abode. If THIS is out there, think of what else might be out there!
In additiin to being THE greatest guitar viruses I've ever heard –– or ever expect to hear –– the guy can even SING really well. Never heard him do THAT before.
What an amazing man! And he's even nice looking. It just ain't FAIR that any one person should have so MUCH going for him, but I'm glad he does.
You'd think being as superor as he obviously is hat he might be arrogant, but NO. You can tell just by looking at him that he's a real nice guy in addition to being on of the great musical genuses of our time.
Franco, I believe he is very appreciative of his lot in life. He's no puss either as I've heard him fancy himself as a John Wayne type guy. Playing in a family band throughout Australia, being out in the bush with the Aborigine and traveling the entire world that enjoys music, he's not short on experience. He's more of a Crocodile Dundee than Dundee is.

ReplyDeleteGlad you like DaBlade. Tommy can play.
ReplyDeleteTruer words were never spoken than these:
ReplyDelete"We don't need no stinkin' band up here..."
