Absolutely awe-inspiring and fascinating. In one of the views, however, I see a a nearly-COMPLETE HORSE galloping towards us out the cloud-like formations, don't you?
The close-up of the "horse's head" looks more like a very strange MUSHROOM -- or maybe some sort of jelly fish (coelicanth?) -- than anything resembling a horse.
Great to get away from the standard news which is so stupid and depressing!
FT, click the picture and go to the 3rd set of pictures down; this is how we've mostly seen the horsehead up to now. So it makes more sense visually from that POV.
The link says 'error' for me, but that is one WILD looking nebula!
ReplyDeleteZ, Here is the raw link, maybe you can cut and paste it if you want.

DeleteI don't see the complete horse...
Just WOW. I want to go out there.
ReplyDeleteAdmiral, and such a TINY piece of the Orion nebula. Backing up a little, you can't even find this there.
DeleteAnyway, Hey, I'll meet you there :)
