Why is the EPA more powerful than any governmental office ?
They're the reason we don't have Nuke plants, and why we're still burning coal and harming the environment. They are the reason utilities that burn coal were still polluting so much, at least back in the 80's and 90's and maybe still today.
Utilities went to them and said we can clean up 80% of our output. The EPA said, no you gotta do better. The utilities said, Ok Fuck you then, we're not doing anything. The EPA is the biggest obstacle in America cleaning up its act, which btw is pretty freakin clean no thanks to the E.P.A...
Fuck the EPA. Like Unions it is too powerful and needs to be ratcheted back in a big way.
I suggest a pressure valve that allows the government to step in and say "Your mandate puts an unreasonable demand on the economics of this country/state/county and/or puts an undue burden on the people by restricting their access to a resource, and as a result your mandate is ignored."
Who gave these assholes so much power? Probably Jimmah Carter. I'm not going to bother looking it up because I don't care about the historical details.
Oh, and let's not forget the Department of Energy, whose mandate it is to Reduce Our Dependency on Foreign Energy (Read: Oil). 40 years later, and billions of dollars tossed into this commode of a government bureaucracy each and every year, and they have accomplished Jack SHIT; scoring 100 out of a possible 100 points for any given Liberal Program (As scored by liberals).
Oh well, let's enjoy the winter. It's only going to be around another 4 or 5 weeks ;-)
The EPA, Dept of Energy and Dept of Education all have to go. Where in the constitution does it give Feds this kind of power?
ReplyDeleteDitto, Opus!
ReplyDeleteOpus, they seem to be more powerful than the White House and Congress.
ReplyDeleteLike Congress says "Let's Drill Our Oil" and the EPA says "NO!"
Or, Let's build clean and safe Nuke Plants!" and the EPA says "NO!"
Arby and Opus. As Reagan said, nothing is forever except for a government program. or something like that.
ReplyDeleteThe stack of obstructionist entities is already too high to overcome.
I just heard from a Phd Patent Lawyer on Hannity radio that a new drug takes 20 YEARS to get from creation to the public.
I'm all for safety but that's ridiculous.
This ain't Heaven you know? This is a rock flying through space and we're all going to die no matter what. There's a point of no return here.
i have a love/hate relationship with the epa. if it wasn't for them there would be no NPDES permits therefore i wouldn't have a job. but the lack of common sense dealing with these people is overwhelming. you're right. they need to be knocked off their high horse.
