But Who Inspired Chet

.
Chet says it was Django Reinhardt

Note that his 3rd and little finger were damaged and he didn't have much use of them. Video clips are few, but this is a nice little tune from 10 years into the Great Depression.

  1. Great music Kid - I could listen to that all night. Did you notice how Hollywood romanced smoking in those days? Wow - I wish that could have been different. Good video find

  2. DeanO, Glad you enjoyed it too.

I'm with you on the smoking. We both grew up int eh middle of it, me with two smoking parents.

I smoked for 42 years before I quit. I'd rather it would have been 42 minutes.

  3. Kid, I'm glad you quit - my wife has tried for 25 years to quit but no luck so I believe I understand the difficulty of trying to quit and wanting to quit.

  4. DeanO. FWIW. I used the level 1 patch for 5 weeks, then the level 2 patch for 2. Then one day I forgot to put one on and it was not a big deal. Then forgot again the next day and decided I didn't even need the patch anymore.

I was done July 2005 and have never looked back or wanted a cigarette since. No ProblemO !

I'm embarrassed to think of how I must have smelled around non-smokers as my sense of smell has increased about 100 fold since quitting. That's a mostly good and a sometimes bad thing :)

Weight is a little bit of a problem. I eat half as much and seem to have a hard time keeping it off. Though my wife quit the same time I did and she is not having a weight problem. So, it may be thyroid specific or something.
That's all I've got to pass on.
