Nothing Good In the News Today

Let's See.  Donald J Trump is tightening up his image....
  • Trump kicks crying baby out of rally.
  • Trump still beating on Gold Star Family
  • Trump picks Palin and Carson for Foreign Policy Dream Team !
and that's just what I remember.  Not like I'm voting for clinton directly or otherwise, but damn - just a little help?

So here is one of the many jewel boxes to be found in the Heavens.  A little bobble for some of my friends to take home and wear on special occasions.  Yes, of course click the picture then click it again and again with wild abandon !

  1. I guess that whole baby thing was a joke. The gold star family deserves it's beating. Haven't heard a peep about the Palin/Carson thingy. Love the stars.

    1. Adrienne, a lot of the Trump stuff is mischaracterized by the media, but what else is new. Well, 95% of the idiots won't understand the Gold Star family situation in its proper context. Yea, Carson and Palin, sitting in a tree - advising Trump on Foreign Policy.

They're both radioactive is the bottom line whatever anyone thinks of them.

    1. Euripides. It is M13. FYI - Anytime I post one of these pics, they are configured so that you can click on the picture which takes you to the Astronomy Picture of the Day website which always includes a description and where you can almost always click the picture again there and get a very high resolution version to explore.

It's a great website and has a link to their Archive which includes every pic they're ever posted. Great source.

That cluster of Heavenly Gems is incredibly beautiful.

Thank you, Kid, for helping to neutralize my anger and heal my anxiety for today.

  4. From someone who was at the last rally in Va.

"One thing I want to mention is the baby crying, because that has been national news. Contrary to news stories, it was a very funny thing, Trump was very supportive of the mom calling her and her baby "beautiful" and "wonderful", and then when the baby kept crying he turned it into a joke. Everyone was laughing and it was actually very endearing and funny. Not at all anti mom or anti baby like the media has portrayed it to be.

Which brings me to the final point: I was there and saw and heard the entire event with the mom and baby. There was nothing to it. But then after I'm reading all the news coverage saying "Trump hates moms and babies!!!" I started to doubt myself. Did I really miss a huge story right in front of me? I started asking others who were there, including a husband and wife with young kids. And everyone in the room said the same thing: there was no story here. Trump was being funny and personable and going out of his way to make sure the mom wasn't embarrassed by making it a funny situation. My conclusion is that the media is selling us a narrative. Be very skeptical of what the media is telling you, because I saw it with my own eyes and it was something very different."

    1. IMP, Thanks. That rings very true. Yet, we know what 90% of the public will come away with.

  5. Don't sweat this early garbage, Kid. Remember, Reagan was behind Carter in the polls by 15 points in August, 1980. And George H.W. Bush was trailing Michael Dukakis by 15 points in Aug, 1988.

My point is that there was no second term of Jimmy Carter. And I don't recall any Dukakis administration. Both of these liberal pinkos got shellacked in landslides.

It's all Pre-Labor day crap, Kid. Take that to the bank.

    1. Thanks, Fredd. We need to hear positive reinforcement from history like that, instead of letting ourselves fall right into the enemedia's filthy hands by "going
      all wobbly,"
as Mrs. Thatcher used to say whenever her constituents began losing faith ,and started to waver.

The naysayers have very loud voices, and they are incredibly persistent, but we don't HAVE to let ourselves be swayed by their ungodly, destructive litany.

Think of the words of William Blake: "

... I shall not cease from mental fight,
nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
      Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land."

Now that's language heavy with symbolism and not meant to be taken literally. "Jerusalem" may be read as a stand-in for "Zion." And "Zion" in its spiritual context does not refer to a small piece of arid real estate on the Mediterranean meant to be "A Homeland for the Jews."

"Jerusalem" or "Zion" means a blessed, holy state of mind where peace and harmony may dwell and thrive –– a "heaven in earth" derived from a perfected faith in our triune God.

Blake talks of ENGLAND, but in the realm of SPIRIT this blessed state of mind may be established ANYWHERE since it is eminently portable.

In rejecting spirituality and religious faith as childishness, foolishness and mere wishful thinking Modern Man has done great damage to himself and to the great civilization he built by dint of FAITH in GOD, energized by the COURAGE of his convictions.

  7. Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are!
Up above the world so high ––
LIKE A DIAMOND in the SKY ––
    Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are!

There's great profundity even in old nursery rhymes, if we know how to look for it.

    1. FT, Many people from long ago were much smart than people in our not so long ago. That is for sure. And since I mention it - I believe it is because people in earlier times had far fewer distractions that we have. I really do try to limit my distractions.
